DO NOT PURCHASE FROM DEALER - JP
If you want an UNDISPUTEDLY honest review, read this...DO NOT purchase a vehicle from this dealer. As other reviewers have noted, the actual car buying experience was quite pleasant and easy to navigate, so I'll give them that. This review is based on what happened AFTER I purchased the vehicle (2004 Cadillac CTS - 84K miles). Of course they assured me multiple times that their vehicles were "mechanically sound" and serviced by their top-notch ASE certified mechanics. Let me note that I do recognize the inherent "repair" risk (within reason) in purchasing an older model vehicle that has had some miles put on it. Any dealer that puts a such a strong emphasis on their 3rd party warranty service (which they did initially prior to purchase and even had the gall to bring up when i called 2 days ago about needing a new engine). It didn't make financial sense at the time to add the warranty for another $2,500 given the vehicles age/price but (I sure wish I had now!!). I've put 6,000 miles on the vehicle since purchase....READ THAT AGAIN.... ONLY 6,000 miles. So now for the issues:
3-weeks after purchase (check engine light) - Thermostat Failure
Undisputed Response - Repair Quote: $700
ASE Mechanic - Fixed P&L $400
2-months after purchase - Head lights smoky - Needed restoration for visibility
P&L = $100
3-months after purchase - Tail lights out
P&L - $100
6-months after purchase (check engine light) - Transmission Fluid Leak
Unidsputed Response: Did not contact
ASE Mechanic - Fixed P&L $300
9-months after purchase - Front Lower Control Arm & Sway Bar Link in need of repair (car suspension is grinding)
Undisputed Response: Did not contact
ASE mechanic - Car is driveable but would recommend replacing soon -Quote - P&L $1,800
11-months after purchase - Broken Flywheel (in addition to the MAJOR issue below)
2 different ASE Mechanics - Quote: P&L $600
11-months after purchase - Multiple cylinder misfires - car is undriveable
2 different ASE Mechanics - Same Recommendation - REPLACE/RE-BUILD MOTOR!!!!
Undisputed Response: Well there are multiple reason cylinders can lose compression (blah blah blah) we can take a look if you want, but basically... sorry bro (exact words).... Again mentioning the warranty or contacting my lender to see if there were warranties I could purchase through them (now mind you - you can't buy a warranty for an issue that has already occurred), stating that they could not authorize any funds be put towards repair cost since it's been almost a year since purchase (of course overlooking the fact that it's been driven only 6,000 miles). Also kept bringing up the "as is" legal ease written in to the purchase paperwork.
They are in the business to make money, I get it, but if their "customer service" approach on the pile of junk they sold me is grounded in WARRANTIES & LEGAL EASE..(my experience) I personally think that should tell you just about all you need to know.
I would advise YOU to STEER CLEAR (both figuratively and literally) of Undisputed Auto.
Truly guy cars like you and me - Chevybowtiekindaguy
These guys are great!, not only do they have quality classic cars but they are passionate driven folks. Walking into their shop felt like coming over my buddys garage. These guys have been around for a while and are well k own to the local car show scene. I had them do a trans swap from a th350 auto to a muncie 4 speed and it was done right. Took them 3 days to get the keys back in my hands and havent had an issue since. Highly recommended.
Clearly new management - Bigbuyboy
I have passed this place for years and never stopped since there were always just a few cars. Started seeing new cars and lots of them so I decided to stop in. Ended up getting a great deal on a new used car. Great cars great service I suggest folks stop in now. New management doing it big.
Ali took the time to listen to my needs and exactly what... - stevenryagoda4
Ali took the time to listen to my needs and exactly what my budget was. He put in the best car for my money and the car was delivered to me in showroom condition. I would definitely recommend this dealership and plan to buy another car there for my son.
Caveat Emptor - dubzed
I could write a lengthy review of my experience with this establishment with names and everything but quite honestly it's not worth my time so I'll just sum it up with some bullet points.
- seedy car lot feel the moment you walk on the property
- sold a decent truck for what was thought to be a decent price, if you take into consideration inconsistent and sometimes incomprehensible communications throughout the process for an out of town buyer
- said truck that passed Virginia inspection once brought home had front shocks leaking and a valve cover leak that will total well over $1500 when said and done, maybe VA has garbage inspections, but it certainly begs to question their touted inspection
- was hit with a bogus $70 dealer business tax fee, one that I was just too exhausted to even bring up by the time I got there
- they knew I flew in from out of town and was going to drive it 9 hours home and it still took bargaining for them to fill the tank up before leaving
- post sale and after 3 weeks of dragging their feet on the getting the registration and title taken care of I had to request they send all of it to me to do myself at my local tag office
- icing on the cake: the refund of the tax, title and registration didn't even include transfer and title fee, a mere $28 you say, but the nail in the coffin for what type of establishment this is
