Currently I own a vehicle, a INFINITI q70L 2015 and i was... - Twoo1
Currently I own a vehicle, a INFINITI q70L 2015 and i was looking to trade it in for an Audi A8. I was always fascinated by German cars as I was told they were built like a tank. I began to do a search and landed at north Orlando Audi, and I began communicating with Brandon Cooksey in November of 2020. From the get go I explained that I was blind, but knew a lot about buying cars. I also informed him that in order for me to get there, I have to hire a paid driver to take me. He seemed to understand, and told me, when I was ready I could make an appointment and come in.
Fast forward to March 2021, I finally gave him a call after several emails and asked if I could come in. He told me that the time I wanted to come in, he was busy but his colleague Mark could assist me. when I went in I explained my situation, and I explained that I would be riding in the back seat, and I want to be able to access the features on the touch pad via voice control in the back seat. When he took us to the vehicle, the tablet was not syncing, which made it impossible for me to test the voice control function. Mark assured me, if I wanted to buy that particular car, he would make sure the problem would be fixed. He did explain that all vehicles go through a vigorous inspection.
We then walked into the showroom and crunched numbers. Mark explained to me the trade in value of my INFINITI and the MSRP for the Audi A8.
I told him i was uninterested, because I wanted a v 8 engine, and the backseat did not have a massage function, after this Mark told me that I could always have my car built custom. I told him i would think about it and continue to work with Brandon. I told him I was not in any rush as my current vehicle is in good shape.
Brandon told me he tested one of the A8s via email on April 10th, 2021, and that using voice assist that I could control all the features from the backseat without needing to interact with the tablet. He requested I come in and test it myself. Finally I made another appointment Tuesday, April 13, 2021 and he told me he would be available to assist me at 3:45 in the afternoon. Luckily my driver was available, so off we went. However to my disappointment, when I got there, we were informed that Brandon was closing a deal on a walk in with no appointment. Mark was assigned to assist me once again.
At this point I demanded that I needed to see Brandon, as I had had problems with the testing the vehicle with mark previously.
Mark greeted us warmly and led us to an A8, however we had the exact same issue as before. Mark went to the control panel in the front seat and told me to say "Hey Audi," after many tries it did not work, then Mark asked his colleague to bring over another A8.
When we got into this vehicle, the tablet did work, but the battery was low. After a number of tries the voice control did work but only for the front seat passengers. At this point I demanded for Mark to bring out Brandon, and I was told he was not available. Someone told us to wait 10 minutes, and we told him that 10 minutes of our time was not worth it and further told him I was was wasting money by coming in twice. Brandon came running out as I was getting into the car, and I was not in the mood to talk to him.
My driver explained the situation, Brandon apologized and explained to my driver the voice controls only works in the front seat. In my email I had specifically asked if it was functional in the back seat, and he responded in the affirmative. My driver also told me Brandon promised to give me a call, but I probably will not be going back there.
If you are an individual with some sort of disability and require answers about particular vehicles before going in, this dealership is not for you. As a blind person I felt that I had been jerked around by this dealership and that Brandon was not straightforward. If you must buy a German car from this dealership, I urge you not to speak to Brandon, as he is not helpful to people with disabilities. Even Mark, who was much nicer, did not know much about the vehicle functions. I feel that if you are selling a high priced car, you should be on top of your business. I will not be doing business with them.
