Helpful Employees - happygirl
I was looking to trade my 2012 Explorer and I spoke with Scott in the service dept. while having my oil changed. He told me that they had a used one on the lot. I spoke to Mark Weinbrenner and he told me about a 2016 that I liked and said I would talk to my husband. When I got back to Mark it was gone. He looked for 2 weeks and finally found what I was looking for. He went above and beyond in helping me get what I was looking for. Even after I bought my car he helped find floormats that I was wanting. Have always had a good experience while doing business with anyone at Cappers. Highly recommend their services.

A BUSINESS DESTINATION WORTH THE TRIP! - Schreier4866
We were looking for a Ford Edge Titanium. We had planned to go to our local dealership today to possibly purchase one that was advertised online. However, the vehicle had recently sold and was no longer available. After a brief online search we found another one at Bill Colwell Ford and went to check it out. We knew nothing about this dealership. David, our salesperson, was exceptional. He was knowledgeable, informative, and provided a seamless transition from the beginning to end. Kate, in finance, was great to work with as well. She did the background work and had all the financing information organized and available for our decision making and eventual purchase. Everyone else behind the scene kept the process flowing smoothly. Within 3 1/2 hours we are on our way home driving our new vehicle. Bill Colwell Ford is BUSINESS DESTINATION worth the trip. Thank you!
No Pressure Purchase - Bones58
Was a very positive, no pressure experience. Quincy was very professional, had all the answers for me, and really helped the process along. I'm not high on vehicle shopping but working with him made it so much easier. He let me know what to expect, and made recommendations that he thought I needed to take a look at pertaining to the type of vehicle I purchased.

2012 Ford F150 3.5 EcoBoost Motor Replacement - diedrichjohn
So let me start ... I purchased my 2012 F150 EcoBoost Platinum from Lynch Ford in Mt. Vernon, IA in October of 2012 with good results. The reason I went to Lynch Ford was the fact that the dealership sold both Chevrolet and Ford. We purposely went there because we currently owned a Chevrolet Tahoe but were looking to purchase a new pickup and wanted to compare the two brands. We ended up purchasing our Demo 2012 F150 and definately understood why we purchased the Ford truck. It had everything we could ask for, from the power, roominess, and overall quality. We also purchased the EXP Ford extended 6 year warranty based on the fact that we were planning to keep the truck 10+, and on the Platinum model.... there are a lot of electronics.
Moving forward to Oct. '18... 6 days after my extended warrant expired. On the way home from work my 3.5 EcoBoost engine with 63,376 miles started to knock and with no "service engine lights" I pulled over and shut the truck off. After being towed to the Lynch Ford dealership the description of the problem found the rod bearing had spun on the cranksaft causing metal debris to be throughout the engine assembly.
We then worked with Jeff Krogman the "Service Manager" and also requested Dan Lynch "President" to be involved in the preliminary discussions of the motor failure. After confirming the motor failure causes, Jeff had to contact the Ford factory to determine if the company would help provide compensation. After a couple of days Jeff contacted us and said Ford would provide compensation based on the facts that we had always had our truck serviced (oil changes) at a Ford dealership as well as having purchased the Ford EXP plan and considered us a "Loyal Ford Customer".
Lynch Ford provided us a "Loaner" vehicle at "no charge" once the decision was made to replace the motor. A new 3.5 EcoBoost motor with two new turbo's was installed a few days later. Four weeks to the day of our motor failure, we got our truck back from Lynch Ford. The truck was washed and detailed inside, I inspected the truck to make sure there wasn't any blemishes that weren't there prior to the motor work. The shop did a great job removing and re-installing the motor. Jeff explained all the details of the work that was completed and itemized the overall costs. The bill was actually $230.00 under the quoted price!
I am disappointed that "The Ford Motor Company" did not cover the entire cost of the motor (35%) of the overall cost. This based on some internet information from other 3.5 EcoBoost Customers that have responded with very similar failures. But until there is a official recall of this motor we have to be "thankful" that Ford, and Dan Lynch Ford was willing to still provide compensation for this issue, and even though my warranty had expired. I feel Lynch Ford (Dan) did what he could to keep us as a satisfied customer.
My new motor came with a 3 year/unlimited milage warranty..... I plan to run the wheels off this truck because I still like the truck!!

Looking for a pickup - EdSass
I was looking for a used pickup but you guys had a left over 2016 so I bought it. I was really happy with the 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 Big Horn. Everything was great I loved it. Then we went camping pulling the camper. Everything was going good until all of a sudden it just quit running!!!!!!!!! It only had a little over 2800 miles!!!!!!! I wasn't a happy camper pulling a camper on our 1st time out pulling it and it quit running!!!!!!!! Now I need a new motor. Even though it's under warranty it's just the principal I don't have my new pickup because it's BROKE DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not a waste of time - jody911
Purchased my car from Gene Lorsung at Junge Center Point. Should have gone here first and saved a lot of anguish and time. Not only did he bring my car from North Liberty he spent the time answering all my questions he also showed us the features on the car. He listened to us when we advised we had other financing and was very professional about it. No pressure for us and reassurance we made the right choice. Thanks Gene for making this so simple. My recommendation would be to start here. You won’t be disappointed
Service Department - Debbie
Not recommended. Took 2 hours longer than it should. Over booked. Parts not stocked. Estimates for future work too high. Only went in for a recall.
“Not our fault, not our problem” attitude - Walker15
I would like to inform the public about the negative experiences I have had with Freese Motors in Monticello, Iowa, since buying my Edge there in August of 2016. I urge you to take my experience into account before purchasing or servicing a vehicle there.
I am a strong supporter of local business, which is why I decided to buy a vehicle from Freese. I am now regretting my decision. In my experience, nothing is ever "their fault" or "their problem" (even though all of the problems I've experience with my vehicle have most certainly been their fault), and their service man, Jim, is the most unfriendly service man I have ever met in any industry.
Most recently, the wheel on my Edge that Freese sold to me in August 2016 almost fell off because they failed to tighten the lug nuts before letting us drive it off the lot (despite the certified pre-owned checklist the vehicle supposedly underwent). They are the only ones to have touched my vehicle since I have owned it, so this was definitely their mistake. I don't like to think about what would have happened if that wheel had fallen off at 70 mph...I probably wouldn't be here to write this review. Freese's initial attitude was "not our fault...not our problem." (Verbatim from Jim.) After further discussion, they finally agreed to own up to their mistake and cover the $1,000 of resulting damage.
Aside from this major issue, Freese ruined the dash glass in my Edge by cleaning it with the wrong cleaner before selling it to us and rather than admitting their mistake, they blamed Ford for a "faulty part," and the warranty covered the replacement part. (It wasn't ruined during our test drive. It was definitely their fault.)
Freese also forgot to give me a spare key fob when I bought my vehicle and later when I needed my spare, they had to come to my house to install it. They tried charging us for their mistake and never apologized for forgetting. Again, they had a "not our fault" attitude. Needless to say, we didn't pay that bill.
Finally, for a rental vehicle they gave me a beat up mini van with no breaks to drive 45 minutes to work while my year-old vehicle was in their shop...NOT a safe situation.
I encourage you to consider Freese's "not our fault/problem" and "we don't care about our customers" attitude the next time you think about doing business with them. I know I will never set foot in their doorway again. They lost a potential lifelong customer, but they probably don't care. Their customers obviously do not matter to them anyway.
Horrible Experience - blam66
My wife and I bought a car from Pinicon in Independence, Iowa, but it wasn't until after we had signed the papers and handed them the check when they told us the transmission had recently been changed. They also told us it comes with a life time warranty. Needless to say we started having trouble with the transmission and the engine light was coming on within 6 months of buying the car, so we gave them a call and setup a time to bring it in. Once there we sat an waited for over an hour until the guy from the shop finally comes out to tell us it is a wire rubbing next to the transmission that is causing all the problems and it will take just a few minutes to fix. They fix the wire and then hands me a bill for $171.74 and tells me it is all labor charges. A wire the shop manager said would take just a few minutes to fix and should not have cost us one cent. They sold us a piece of crap and the service agreement for the life time transmission is a joke! I will never return to this dealership!
