I hadn't bought a new (to me) car in nearly 20-years and I'd spent 1yr 8mo searching for the perfect car. I thought I'd found it in a 2016 BMW 750i xDrive at BMW of Tulsa. Dylan was very easy to deal with and we got everything set up easily just through text. They had my deposit, I had a PPI scheduled for Friday, and intended make the 3hr trip to pick the car up Saturday. Friday rolls around. I was supposed to get a call from the PPI place to give him my CC# to pay for it. Didn't hear from anyone by 10:15AM when the dealership opened at 9AM. Texted the Dylan to ask if he brought it in for PPI yet. He called me back, apologetic, said yesterday was his day off and another salesman sold the car while he was out without respecting the fact they had my $1000 deposit.
I was devastated and will be upset about it for quite some time. No need for the manager to bother responding with "email me, I'll make this right". Unless you can turn back time and NOT let the car get sold from under me, there's no making this right.
For what it's worth, Dylan was very easy to deal with and was extremely polite and apologetic when I did speak with him on the phone. I blame management for allowing a car to get sold even when there is a deposit on it.
