We would like to give a big shout out to Megan in Sales and Cowen in Finance, for giving us a wonderful experience at San Marcos Toyota.
My wife and I were looking for a larger SUV, and consistently ran into high pressure sales tactics and other issues at Houston area dealerships where we live.
We expanded our search to a 200-mile radius, and found a Certified Sequoia at SMT with low miles and the exact features we were searching for. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, Megan was very responsive and answered all our questions remotely for a week until we were able to make the 3 hour drive to see the vehicle in person.
When we arrived at SMT, the vehicle was clean/parked out front and exactly in the immaculate condition advertised. Megan worked around our schedule and even came in on her day off to meet us. She was honest, patient, and knowledgeable during our test drive, and we did not feel pressured at any time. We ultimately decided to purchase the vehicle, and the entire process went smoothly. During financing, Cowen was a straight shooter and overall we felt that we received a great deal. They both worked extremely hard to earn our business and respected our time, knowing that we had to drive back to Houston on the same day.
We highly recommend San Marcos Toyota for anyone in the market for a new or used vehicle, and will be reaching out to them in the future when it's time to replace our other vehicle.

Purchased a 2020 Tacoma TRD Pro yesterday. My homework served me well especially my choice of dealership. GM Tracy Gurnett and her team are obviously on a mission to change the worlds stereotypical perceptions of car dealerships. The sales person, Adam Fuller, treated my wife and I well. He was very professional, friendly and approachable. As a result, the transaction was very transparent. Advice to Buyers; Do the homework! Choose an honest dealership that values customers and choose a sales person you like. You cannot go wrong with Tracy and her team! Most importantly, ALWAYS treat people the way you want to be treated.

I normally wouldn’t write a review of a car dealership but this speaks volumes on their customer service.
I’ll start with my most recent purchase. I got a 2020 Camry from Auto Nation South Austin about 3.5 weeks ago. It was used but only had 10k on it and was in really good condition. Sales person was very nice and helpful through the whole long process. After all was said and done I drove it home (which is only about 4 miles away) and when I got home I noticed a good sized chip in the windshield. It was near the bottom so I didn’t notice it while I was test driving the car (was too excited!).
I sent a text to the sales person and told them that I had just noticed this chip. She asked me if it happened on the way home. No, I wouldn’t have text you if it was my fault but still I understand why she asked. People are shady and dishonest. She said she’d ask her manager if they could take care of it. He agreed. She said the glass people would come out to my house and fix it. I thought to myself WOW this is great customer service. Well, that was a lie. I ended up having to drive from South Austin to far North Austin (not an easy thing with traffic). Still I was ok with that because they’d fix it. Their fix was just to put some stuff in the chip so it didn’t spread. Ok, now I’m not happy. I told her what happened and she said she’d get on it. I waited and waited for days. I text her every day to see what was up and if she had talked to her manager. Excuse after excuse of why he hadn’t responded. This went on for 2 weeks. I gave up. You win Auto Nation. You don’t have to fix my windshield. You’ve also lost a customer.
(Side note: This is the second car I’ve bought here and I got screwed on the first as well. The bumper wouldn’t stay on right and their fix for that was to shove some foam up there to hold it in place. )
I probably wouldn’t be so upset if she (or a manager) had reached out to me just once to see if it had been fixed but that never happened. I expected better from them. I definitely will not ever be buying a car from any Auto Nation nor will I recommend it to anyone.

This dealership was only interested in getting us in and out with an overpriced vehicle as quidkly as possible. There were so many employees it seemed crowded. While our salesman tried his best to help us, his hands were tied by his sales manager who was pushy and bordered on being rude. We said from the beginning what our bottom line was and they first offered us almost twice that bottom line amount. After our salesman made his 4th trip to the sales manager, the manager himself came out. We explained directly to him what our bottom line was. He kept making snide comments and then would follow up with just kidding. When we were finally fed up and got up to leave he then met our bottom line and offered to go even lower if we signed then and there. That was the final straw. There are other dealerships in the San Antonio area. And we found a good one at Red McCombs.
