Easy Experience - lgrass219
I was greeted by John Phillips after two minutes of stepping foot in the dealership. He immediately offered refreshment as we sat at his desk to discuss my options. Once he figured out that I was looking at a Jetta we discussed the different models, and what was important to me in buying or leasing a vehicle from them. I was able to test drive 2 cars outrightly with him, a 2017 model and a 2018. He explained the differences and benefits in each car as I test drove. When we went back to his office we both had a better understanding of what I didn't want, so he began to offer different options in concerns with leasing/buying all the way down to interior color. He then took me to look at one last car on the lot, and before I even got in the drivers seat I knew that was the one I wanted!! I drove that one for a longer drive, and when we returned to his desk we began to more seriously discuss details. 3 days went by for me to think about it, and after a few phone calls back and forth, he was able to offer me an incredible deal, even matching the price for the same vehicle at a different dealership. The day I went in to lease the car, there was an intense snow storm and as a customer it was nice that he was willing to come in just to seal the deal as he knew I was in a time constraint of heading back to college in Connecticut the following day. It was a pleasure working with John Phillips and I would absolutely recommend he, and the dealership to anyone looking to buy or lease a new car. Thank you!!
Customer-centered, responsive, fair prices - Toddfan
After being in touch with several other dealerships and finding ourselves frustrated by having to wait for a response, we called Thompson's, which is about an hour and a half from our home. Their internet salesperson answered the phone and was very helpful, being back in touch immediately, with an email detailing pricing on the car we inquired about. He followed up in a day, letting us know he had a car on the lot, so we went there for a test drive and ended up buying the car, feeling as if this was the best deal we would get on a car that had been difficult to find. He allowed us to take our time on the test drive and answered all our questions, yet we didn't feel pressured in any way. In addition, we really liked the way we didn't have to go through the gauntlet of offers on extras we weren't interested in. He also made a follow-up call to see how we liked the car. All in all, excellent customer service. We highly recommend this salesperson and dealership!
Awesome! - Schoodic
My Mazda CX-3 is if possuble even better than the excellent reviews which led me to purchase the vehicle in the first place instead of another Subaru. Its performance, styling and interior belie its reasonable cost and give much more expensive luxury vehicles a run for their money. It is truly awesome. But equally awesome was the attention, assistance, knowledgeability, professionalism and friendliness of the enfire staff at Varney. They made my purchase a real pleasure rather than the terrible experience often associated with car dealerships. Thanks to everyone - and thanks for my wonderful new Mazda!
Warranty Issue not Resolved. Unprofessionalism - Eric B
Took my 2015 Mazda in because rust was starting to show up on my hood under the paint bleeding through. They took pictures and said, "just a matter of paperwork to get this fixed because vehicle still under warranty". After 2 months of countless calls trying to get this resolved, I got the same answer "waiting for approval". Even after I tried to talk to a supervisor or manager who never called me back....I was eventually told that I needed to call Mazda USA myself.
So I called Mazda USA and they put me on hold and called the dealership. They could not get an immediate answer from Prime and Mazda USA called me the next day to only say the claim is being denied. I will never buy another Mazda!
Unbelievable, I love the vehicle but if I cant get it serviced and am treated this way after the sale then I have better choices. Too bad because they lost a loyal customer and anyone I talk to about my experience over a small issue that could have been resolved very quickly and inexpensively.
Dishonest service department. - mikegiroux1959
We dropped off our Impala to have the rear defroster repaired under warranty. They called to tell us we needed new tires. The tires were only 1/2 worn out. we declined . Goodwins in retaliation for us declining to be ripped off.....cut our good inspection sticker in half. This all took place a week before Christmas.....Merry Christmas , from the low class service department , at Goodwins Chevrolet.
Bad Car Buying Experience - CX3
I recently traded-in my Mazda and purchased a new one here. Was offered a $500 customer loyalty bonus credit, and a $250 Mazda corporate credit, but was disappointed with my offered trade in allowance; which was $9000. Anyway, Mr. Blouin entered the conversation and ostensibly saved the deal. The short of it is he in-turn offered a higher trade-in allowance, which was $11000, if I choose a particular new vehicle I wanted in their inventory of which they had a duplicate color. (BTW that car had a covered small deep paint scratch on the hood) I discovered that too after the rain washed off whatever they put on to cover it. BUT OK fine, I was satisfied with the deal. In the end, Brandon, my salesperson, went ahead and prepared the sales contract. He sneakily, backed-out the 500 and 250 incentives from the contract. Noted, trade-in line as $10500, and noted rebate line as $500 (so he could get that 500 allowance back from Mazda corporate). My actual trade in and credits was a total of $11000 and the $750 in Mazda incentives were purposely deleted from contract by Brandon. I signed and did not notice this until I looked over the contract 24 hours later. When this was brought to Brandon's attention by me, his response was "we weren't making any money on the car" and that "you saved on the sales taxes" A Classic back-peddling line for sure. Brandon was also eager to reiterate all the other "nice things" their dealership had done for me; remove and return my snow tires and roof rack, of which I was very gracious for. I was shorted $750.00 by Paul Blouin Mazda, and they know it. Be careful here, and take extra time to review the deal, make notes and double check. I had a 3-week old baby with me too and was somewhat rushed and distracted. No kidding
