Failed me as a customer - cjnewt
My 2014 Chevy Cruze had check engine light go on at 53,000 miles. Code was P0299, which is Turbocharger Underboost. The turbo needed replacement. They told me to bring it in the next day, but ONLY IF the check engine light was still on. Next morning it was off so I called and they said they couldn't diagnose it so don't bring it in. It came on again last week, at 89,000 miles, with the same code. They told me to bring it in the next day, but ONLY IF the check engine light was still on. Next morning it was off BUT I TOOK IT IN ANYWAY. Somehow, who knows how, they were able to pull the code and tell me it was P0299. If they had done that at 53,000 miles I would not be paying for a new turbocharger, which is 1500 bucks. Now, they refuse to do anything about it. The warranty on the turbocharger is 80,000 miles. Seems reasonable to me that Young and/or Chevrolet cover it considering what happened at 53,000 miles. I see this as dishonest service, and what did they have to lose? Chevrolet would have covered the warranty claim!
