Tevita was great but service afterwards, not so much. - zack120
Recently I filled out a questionnaire about my experience at Straub Hyundai and had a mixed review. The salespersons name was Tevita Fehoko and to be honest he was the best salesman out of the three dealerships that I visited at Straub and I bought 3 cars from them so far. After the sale I went to get the crystal fusion treatment that I paid additional for but they were out of the material to do it. They told me to come back tomorrow and I said ok. The next day I ran back up and was told they still did not have the material to do the windshield so they told me to come back sometime next week and I was still ok with it. I was a little disappointed but still satisfied with the overall experience. Then I came back about a week later. That's when I was turned away again. I ran up right after work and it was about an hour before close and I could tell they really didn't want to do it by their body language so I said I'll try another time but I left a little frustrated this time. I know I just popped in but they told me before that it would be pretty quick so I thought they could have done it anyway. By the way, there were no cars in any of the bays. In the mean time I got a survey about my experience. I tried to rate Tevita excellent because I really wasn't even going to buy a Hyundai. I bought one in 87' and it pretty much fell apart and vowed never to by one again but he talked us into trying one out and told my wife and I how much they improved on their quality. By talking to him I could tell he was genuinely nice person he was so I let him give us all his information about the Tucson and Santa Fe and test drove both. He then introduced us to the sales manager Dave and he said they have some incentives so we talked it over and we ended up buying one. I was still talking to myself that I couldn't believe I bought a Hyundai but I did because of Tevita and Dave. They gave me a FAIR OFFER THE VERY FIRST TIME. It was the least pressured deal I ever had and I have bought over 10 cars. After the sale however, the service area seemed less than thrilled to work on my car so I tried to mark it on my survey and it ended up as Tevita's fault. He wasn't even there my next 2 visits and I didn't even think he was responsible once I went to the service area. Well, when I finally texted back to get my car serviced I texted Tevita about an oil change and to finally get my crystal fusion and he told me he was trying but they busy once again. So we made a few other stops and popped in around 2:30. Tevita met us and then apologized about his service and that's when I told him it wasn't his fault. I said xxxx, you are the one that talked us into getting a Hyundai to begin with, we just are having a hard time getting the crystal fusion treatment. That's when he told me what happened with my survey and I got upset he was blamed for my negative remarks. He said my bad review about my experience with the service area reflected on him. I said my negative review was meant for the service area not him. He did his job as good as any salesman I ever had to deal with and this is why. He was sincere and very friendly and I could tell it. He was straight and no BS. He didn't even leave us when we talked to Dave and he was going to be with us to the end whether we bought the car or not. I feel that he should not be held responsible for my negative rating because once I went to the service area I felt he was done with his responsibilities. It was the service area I had issues with. Also, If I was going to buy a car again and I will, Tevita will be the first one I call. Heck, at the Straub Nissan dealership, they had me believing I was going to get $15,000 back on my taxes before I doubled checked with a friend. It was never my intent for my rating of the service area to reflect negatively on Tevita.
P.S. I completely disagree with making the service area Tevita's responsibility on the survey. My wife and I thought he did an exceptional job in selling your product to us and again, we are very sorry for any negative effect our survey had on Tevita. He came off as the most honest and sincere salesman of the 5 dealers we talked to when buying our vehicle. I still can't believe I bought a Hyundai and he was one of the main reasons why.
Sincerely,
Brian & Debbie Hamric
