Unacceptable Management, Disgusting Customer Service
I rarely leave negative reviews, but after the experience I had today, I believe this deserves to be addressed publicly. While driving on Sarno Rd near Aurora Rd, a blue GMC Acadia with a transporter tag nearly side-swiped me while making a turn. To make matters worse, the vehicle was being driven with absolutely no functioning brake lights, creating a serious safety hazard.
I contacted the dealership to report this concerning incident, only to encounter an appalling level of arrogance and unprofessionalism from Doug, who identified himself as the General Manager. Rather than acknowledging a legitimate safety concern, he repeatedly dismissed the situation with the attitude that the driver “didn’t hit me,” as if an accident is the only reason anyone should be concerned about a vehicle operating unsafely.
When I requested to speak with his supervisor, Doug’s response was, “I’m the xxxxing boss,” before abruptly hanging up on me.
Let that sink in. This is supposedly the level of professionalism demonstrated by someone in a management position. A legitimate safety concern was met with profanity, arrogance, complete disregard, and an outright refusal to demonstrate even the slightest degree of accountability.
Being a General Manager does not give someone the authority to speak to people however they please or excuse such appalling conduct. Leadership is demonstrated through accountability, professionalism, and how you handle uncomfortable situations, not by declaring yourself the boss and hanging up on someone.
This experience was beyond disappointing and raises serious concerns about the dealership’s management, judgment, and standards of professionalism. If this is how the General Manager responds to a reasonable safety concern, I can only imagine how other customer concerns are handled. Absolutely unacceptable, deeply unprofessional, and a complete failure of leadership.
