disrespectfully by serviceman, Adam, it could not be ignored. He first accused me of lying, by stating I had never taken my 2024 Volvo X90 in for ser

He first accused me of lying, by stating I had never taken my 2024 Volvo X90 in for service, when, in fact, it has been at the dealership at least once before. Then, he again accused me of lying when he stated I had never complained about the backup camera and electrical system overall when, in fact, that is my main concern since probably a month into owning this car. This is my second vehicle from this dealership and the second X90. This time around I can guarantee I’d never buy this car again. I haven’t gotten into an accident by the grace of God. This car will slam the breaks by itself, not be a use of any apparent danger around; just in general, out of nowhere, it will slam the breaks. There’s not enough time to list everything wrong with this vehicle. Most recently, the backup camera did not detect my garage door and I hit it. Any other time—in the middle of ongoing traffic—it’ll slam the breaks, but the time it was supposed to actually detect an issue, it did not. When I explained to Adam that I just noticed there’s a recall that I’m certain is the reason I hit my garage door, he then said that issue had been fixed in my car, despite accusing me earlier of lying and saying I hadn’t been there before for any camera issue. When I argued the point back, he told me to contact Volvo directly and hung up on me. I don not recommend this particular model of Volvo, and I definitely do not recommend this rude and borderline sexist service department. The most shocking to me wasn’t just the demeaning and condescending attitude Adam projected toward me, but the fact that he represents a highly-regarded and respected vehicle brand and had the audacity to dismiss something as serious as a recall—that could literally get someone into an accident—without a second thought. Shame on you, Weston Volvo. Do better.

Janet. Thank you for sharing your concerns. We would like to clarify a few points from our records to ensure accuracy.
According to our service history, your Volvo has been in our service department once since purchase. That visit took place in January 2025 for the 10,000-mile factory-recommended maintenance. At that time, the concerns reported were limited to intermittent audio issues, including sound loss from turn signals and Bluetooth/radio cutting in and out. During that visit, our team completed the scheduled maintenance, performed an infotainment head unit software update, and identified and repaired a coolant leak.
No additional concerns related to braking behavior, backup camera operation, or other electrical issues were reported during that service visit. As those issues were not previously brought to our attention, we were not provided the opportunity to inspect or diagnose them at that time. Given the nature of the concerns described, seeking a second opinion from another authorized Volvo retailer may be something to consider.
Regarding recalls, there is currently an open Volvo recall associated with this model; however, Volvo Cars has advised that a remedy is not expected to be available until the second quarter of this year. Until a manufacturer-approved repair is released, dealers are unable to perform corrective action.
Lastly, our advisor’s guidance was to suggest contacting your insurance provider regarding the garage damage, or Volvo Cars directly should you wish to discuss the matter further. At no point is it our intention to dismiss safety concerns or leave a customer feeling unheard, and we regret if the interaction was perceived otherwise.
We appreciate your feedback and take all customer input seriously, as it helps us continue improving our communication and service experience. We truly hope you get an acceptable resolution to the issues you have shared.
