My vehicle was taken to Bayside Ford in King George for my state inspection. Upon completion the found my water pump had a crack. The scheduled and completed this job in a reasonable time frame. However, j my state inspection. Upon completion the found my water pump had a crack. The scheduled and completed this job in a reasonable time frame. However, just a few weeks later a list of items went bad on my explorer. Upon research, I found that they were in direct contact with the water pump, and therefore would point to these items being damaged while the initial work was being completed. When I called to inform them my check engine light had come on, and had little acceleration, they told me that I wouldn’t be able to bring it in until the end of September, at the time it was about a month away. After after another qualified technician run the codes, and telling Bayside what the other tech found, the suddenly could fit my truck in for diagnostics. This was only after I told them what the other tech had informed me of these codes would run hand in hand with the work completed with the water pump. I dropped my vehicle off on a Sunday afternoon, and was promised to have the diagnostics completed Monday or Tuesday. I never received a call back, so I followed up Tuesday afternoon where I was informed it would be at least another week and a half before I would receive my truck back. They never informed me of what they found until I pressed for answers. After a week and a half, I called and was given an update that it still wasn’t ready. As a person where this vehicle is my only means of transportation, with 2 kids in school, and my older having medical appointments multiple times a week, I could not go much longer without a vehicle. Since bayside no longer offer loaner vehicles, I spent time “renting” vehicles from family. The poor communication throughout the process is my major concern as well as their lack of empathy for someone that has to rearrange their entire family schedule just to not have the vehicle completed in the time they had promised, and the damage was ultimately in correlation with the original job that was completed on the water pump. Then I was told it would be no charge for me, and when I arrived to pick my vehicle up, they tried to charge me the deductible for my extended warranty. Why should I have to pay a fee, when the damage was caused my their shop? More
