What a waste of a formerly decent dealership First off - I have purchased several VW's in the past from Strong and overall have been happy with the purchases. My wife and I test drove a few models the previous week and came back today to see if we could work an acceptable deal on a new vehicle. Our goal was clear - we are paying cash and are only interested in dealing with an out the door price (taxes, etc, included). I fully realize that advertised prices usually include financing incentives/etc so I wasn't expecting current advertised prices. Unfortunately we were not able to get any price other than 3K ish over sticker price OTD for a vehicle that is currently available with heavy incentives to move the vehicle. Strong lists very low prices, but then adds many options that "typical" buyers "want" - Roof rack, window tint, clear guard, brake light modulator, etc. Those automatic "upgrades " are just another way to get more money for a vehicle. The frustrating part was we were upfront with our desire to not finance and just want to buy a vehicle. Our final quote was obviously high to just get rid of us. We left and went elsewhere and are now happy owners of the same vehicle we wanted to buy, but at a cash price that we are happy with, and our new favorite dealer was happy with. -S More
