Brought my 2010 A4 in to have it assessed for burning oil. Asked if it could be the rings being worn out said they would inspect and let me know. Paid 190.00 for them to tell me what I had suspected and oil. Asked if it could be the rings being worn out said they would inspect and let me know. Paid 190.00 for them to tell me what I had suspected and then quoted me 23,000 for a new engine. I then took it to Utah imports who actually ran some tests which they said they wouldn’t charge me for and they found that the PCV valve that I had already replaced was not the correct one so they replaced it, then retested it. After they retested it and found that it was back to normal they ran an Engine cleaner thru it and then filled the oil. Audi Lehi never even gave that as an option or did they preform the compression test to check the PCV Valve, which I did ask about and the response I was given was “We can do it but it will cost more and our tech has seen enough to know that the rings are bad and engine needs to be replaced.” I Have now ran it 2500 miles without loosing any oil where before I was going through a quart every 300 miles. So basically gave Audi Lehi 190.00 for nothing. Not impressed if you want someone who will actually diagnose a problem, Audi Lehi is not the place. Take it to Utah imports. Side note Utah imports said the engine replacement would only have been between 8000-10,000 to do if it did need to be done, Audi Lehi was more than double. Lesson learned this dealer doesn’t have your best interest in mind, take it to the place where they will actually look at it and give you options. More
