Response provided by the service advisor: I informed the customer on the day he dropped his vehicle off(Friday 9/12) that it would be Tuesday or Wednesday before we could get to his vehicle because of how backed up we were and he said that was fine. I was off on Wednesday 9/17 and when I returned to work on Thursday 9/18, I had a voicemail from the customer checking on the status. I immediately tried to call him back but he did not answer so I sent him a message through DealerFX where I apologized, informed him that we still did not have a new update and that I was hopeful we would have an update by the end of the day or the next day. I even told him I appreciated his patience and apologized again for the extended wait time for a diagnosis. He responded "Sure thing, thank you!". The technician spent a few days on the vehicle cranking and driving trying to duplicate his concerns and was never able to duplicate any issues. On 9/24, I contacted the customer informing him of the time we have spent trying to duplicate the issues and that we had not been able to duplicate anything. As far as picking up the vehicle, I thought it was parked out front where we put service vehicles for customer pickup, but it was a different vehicle. I pulled the customer's vehicle around for him from the back lot. We greatly appreciate our customers and will do all that we can to fix their issues. However, if a sound or action of the vehicle cannot be duplicated when it is brought into our service department, we will not make costly repairs just to say that we did something. We would hope that our customers appreciate that they can put their trust into our service department.
