Joe Tornabeni was my sales person and he was great – very attentive to my requests and true to his word about the condition of the vehicle. The vehicle was in even better condition than I could have hoped for. Joe got me all the information, pictures and videos (cold start, running, walk-around, under-carriage) I requested. Given the uniqueness of the vehicle and the long-distance buy, Mike Zell, the used car sales manager, was also involved in the deal and the logistics of getting the vehicle ready and of getting me to the dealership. Mike was also true to his word about the condition of the vehicle and was very helpful with the logistics of making it all come to together. I wanted new tires put on the vehicle given the cold temperatures and long drive back to Georgia. I ordered tires from Costco and had them shipped to a Costco nearby. Mike was nice enough to have them picked up and brought back to the dealership. (Mike even reached out to the local Discount Tire and got a quote for me, but Costco was cheaper.) Mike also had the alignment checked to ensure all was good from that perspective before the new tires went on. That was all done in advance of me getting there. He also arranged for Joe to pick me up at the airport and bring me to the dealership. Once I got there and I test drove the vehicle and gave them the a-ok to proceed, they mounted the tires on the car while I was completing the paperwork. Mike’s idea of having his folks mount the tires rather than Costco was a good one – it helped avoid a potentially ugly situation where someone at Costco damages the wheel while mounting the tires on a vehicle I didn’t yet own. The guys mounting the tires took the old tires and wrapped them up in plastic and placed them in the vehicle (trunk, back seats and passenger seat!) for the long ride home with me. They took great care in doing so and I appreciated that. Joe introduced me to the tech who inspected the car when they bought it so I could ask him any questions. Joe also took me out in to the garage when the car was on the lift to check out the underside for any salt / rust damage and confirm the under-carriage video he sent me. After the tires were mounted, I noticed some rim rash that none of us had noticed before. Joe quickly escalated it and we were able to resolve it quickly and fairly. Finally, I think in all the excitement, they forgot to provide and I forgot to ask for the title. I contacted Joe and he got right on it and had it FedEx’d overnight. So, would I buy another vehicle from Tom Peck? Yes, I would. Buying and selling a car over long-distance is not easy for either party – it takes time, effort, communication and trust. The folks at Tom Peck were fair and honest. The condition of the car far exceeded my expectations. I am a very happy customer. It was worth getting up at 4:30am, catching a flight to Chicago and driving back 700+ miles to Georgia and getting home at 2am. Quite the nearly 22 hour trip! More
