We took my daughter's car in for service due to a leak in the cabin that had soaked the front driver and passenger side. We dealt with Andrew. Andrew proved to be deceptive in dealing with my daughter, and the cabin that had soaked the front driver and passenger side. We dealt with Andrew. Andrew proved to be deceptive in dealing with my daughter, and later tried to gaslight me about the reason we brought the car in. My wife and daughter dropped the car off. My daughter told him we thought the AC was leaking. ANDREW then asked if there was a smell to the fluid, my daughter said no. ANDREW then went out to the car and told her there was a sweet smell to the fluid. He thought there might be a freon leak. I know this is true because my wife then called me and said they thought it was a freon leak which I told her was weird because the AC was still blowing cold. ANDREW wrote on the S/O that "the customer states there is fluid dripping into the vehicle and there is a smell present", even though my daughter never mentioned a smell. There is no mention of carpet on this service order. This will be important later. Immediately after drop off, I received a call from Amber at Ancira. Amber said that my wife told her I wanted to get a bigger car. Amber wanted to give me a trade in value for my car. I knew this was a lie, because the car is my name, but it’s my daughter’s. There's no way my wife would suggest buying a new car for my daughter now that she's an adult. While they were checking in, my daughter said that she will need a bigger car soon. We assume Andrew relayed this info to the sales person. Sales is gonna sales, but outright lying about the source of your cold call doesn't do much for maintaining customer trust. We knew they were going to call us with exorbitant repair costs, hoping that we would decide to trade in the car. Sure enough, after diagnostics, Andrew has a list of repairs totaling $6100. The AC is not one of them. He tells me the AC drain line was disconnected, and the fluid that leaked into the car was water from the AC system. He then lists off replacing the carpet, AC Filter, front lower control arms, front struts, new tires and alignment. The prices he gave were ridiculous. I told him to just replace the AC filter. He calls me and tells me that since the car was brought in for the smell in the carpet, and we weren't replacing the carpet I'd be responsible for the $350 diagnostic fee. I knew that we didn't bring the car in for carpet. My response was no; we brought the car in because there was a leak in the AC. Carpet and smells never came up until HE brought them up. He told me my daughter brought the car in for the carpet because it says so on the S/O that she signed. LOL, The same S/O that HE wrote. Now I feel like I'm being scammed. I can accept paying $350 if it is legit, but I would never take a car to the dealership for carpet. We went back and forth on voice and text. The entire time Andrew is telling me the car was brought in for the smell in the carpet which is total xx. I spoke to a manager, Travis. I told him we’ve purchased 4 vehicles from that Ancira location in the last 22 years. I asked him to waive or adjust the $350 fee. He refused. I let him know that will be the last money they get from me. Later when we picked up the car a customer service manager waived $75 for an oil change, they weren't supposed to do. At the point of our discrepancy, I told Andrew not to do any work on the car.My frustration was Andrew's claim we brought the car in for smell. The $350 diagnostic fee is the fee that should have been waived. Charge me $150 for reattaching he drain hose, but don't tell me I brought the car in for the smell in the carpet and charge me $350 because I'm not replacing the carpet. We replaced the tires and got an alignment for $420 at a top tire chain. Ancira wanted $1000 for this. $869 for tires, $129 for alignment. We’re getting both suspension items replaced for $1200. Ancira wanted $1140 for control arms and 1240 for front struts. We had the carpet cleaned and treated for mold and mildew for $150. Ancira wanted $2345 for new carpet. More
I’m so disappointed that after multiple visits to the service department at Ancera Nissan on IH 10 and over $10,000 worth of work just under the hood. I’m scared to drive my car because “the same” accele service department at Ancera Nissan on IH 10 and over $10,000 worth of work just under the hood. I’m scared to drive my car because “the same” acceleration installing issue continues to this very day. The service helper Josh (and others over the months) have been nice to me. That is to say they have been nice and polite and made every effort, I believe, from their position to help me through this difficult time and the young man that runs the rental car department has been fantastic as well I’m just so disappointed that somehow my 2009 Nissan Marano engine (after about a half a dozen visits to the service department) seems to be more clever and more capable than the technicians working on it cause it’s still broken. However everyone still got paid. The car is still running poorly. I’m not sure how a 2009 Murano can be smarter and more clever than $175 an hour worth of “labor” But that seems to be the case as far as I can see. To add insult to injury when I went to the sales department to have my vehicle a valuated and possibly used as a down payment they told me they would give me $500 for my car…with somewhere close to $15,000 worth of parts and labor done at that very dealership in the last year or so. Those of us out here in the consumer and senior citizen world are very vulnerable and take our vehicles to who we believe are highly skilled professionals because we believe that they can do what we cannot and we trust that they will. And I haven’t heard a word from anyone in leadership./management. More
Subject: Formal Complaint Against Ancira Nissan for Potential Tampering and Unethical Practices To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to file a formal complaint against Ancira Nissan in San Antoni Potential Tampering and Unethical Practices To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to file a formal complaint against Ancira Nissan in San Antonio, TX. On May 17, 2025, I returned to Ancira to sell my 2024 Nissan Pathfinder, which I had originally purchased from the same dealership in August 2024. Lou the sales agent asked for my car keys to inspect the vehicle, after a 20-minute vehicle inspection, I was offered $26,000. When I questioned the valuation, the salesperson took my driver's license and car keys, implying paperwork would begin. After some delay, they returned with the same offer and my documents and car keys were returned to me only after I insisted multiple times I wanted my belongings back. Later that same day, I visited CarMax, where I received an offer of $32,000. During their inspection, CarMax staff discovered that the OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) port had been intentionally disconnected, with its cables visibly cut. This raised serious concerns, as Ancira was the only entity to inspect the vehicle since purchase. I returned to Ancira and reported the missing OBD port. The sales manager acknowledged it was gone but denied any responsibility. I made clear that no one else had accessed or driven the vehicle since its purchase. The salesperson then oddly shifted the conversation to offering me more money—asking what CarMax offered me, even though I hadn’t disclosed that to them. I am alarmed by the possibility of tampering with my vehicle during their inspection and concerned by their coercive tactics and evasiveness. The removal of the OBD port is not only unethical but may violate state or federal laws. I respectfully request an investigation into Ancira Nissan for: 1. Possible tampering with vehicle components. 2. Withholding personal documents to pressure a sale. 3. Using deceptive sales tactics to manipulate the transaction More
