I bought a new car and it was missing a key, so I had to go back and get a key programmed for my car. I was in the waiting room, and the service tech came to me and told me someone was on the phone and I n go back and get a key programmed for my car. I was in the waiting room, and the service tech came to me and told me someone was on the phone and I needed to tell him I lost my key and that was the only way I could get another key. I was a bit confused, so I went to the phone and the person on the other line asked me to confirm that I did NOT receive two keys and that I had lost my key. I put the phone down and told the service tech I was not going to lie to this person on the phone. Nacho Ortega, the service tech then said, well great, now the dealership will have to pay for the key. I returned to the phone and told the person I did NOT lose my key and was only given one key when I purchased the car and I had an I owe you notice verifying this issue. I later learned from the sales person that new car owners get a free key if THEY lose the key, so apparently, the dealership was trying to cash in on the free key owed to me if I ever lost one. Very shady business. I purchased the car with cash which went pretty quickly, however it took about two hours for them to get my car washed and ready for me to drive away. Overall, I was not at all impressed with this dealership. Can't say I will be back based on the key issue they were trying to pull over on me. In addition, this was the purchase of a new 2024 Ford Expedition. I got ZERO instruction on anything on the car. When I asked how to program my code on the door, the service rep stated he didn't know and i had to read the owners' manual. The service tech on the next desk over heard this response and said he would help me. He did and I was able to program my code on the door. In addition, it does not give me a very good feeling knowing that a key to my car, was "lost" at the dealership. How does that happen? Now I have two keys but it's a bit unsettling knowing an extra key to my car is out there "somewhere". More
