My Tundra lost 50% of its value in 14 months in Scranton I purchased a used good condition 2012 Tundra on 10/17/2018 for $17,999 from Toyota of Scranton. I drove the truck less than 5000 miles. When I look I purchased a used good condition 2012 Tundra on 10/17/2018 for $17,999 from Toyota of Scranton. I drove the truck less than 5000 miles. When I looked to trade my same condition 2012 Tundra for a newer Tundra at Toyota of Scranton on 12/27/2019, about 14 months after I had bought it, my Tundra was only worth a trade-in offer of $9000 from this same dealer. This is less than half what I had purchased it for. This offered price is well under the KBB value of my truck at the time. Earlier in the morning when the sales person and I were looking at a used 2014 Tundra that I was interested in, the salesman told me Toyota's hold their value. This value-holding statement only holds true if you are buying a Toyota automobile from Toyota of Scranton but not if you trade a Toyota back to the same dealer when purchasing a newer one. More
