My 2025 Nissan Ariya broke down, and I had it towed 90 miles (2.5hrs) to the Nissan dealership in Thousand Oaks where I purchased the vehicle (I was in the middle of nowhere and they were only 10 towed 90 miles (2.5hrs) to the Nissan dealership in Thousand Oaks where I purchased the vehicle (I was in the middle of nowhere and they were only 10 miles passed the closest Nissan anyway). Brian is very nice in person. My criticism about his in person personality is that he disregarded the urgency, and did not seem to care about my situation. Also, he knew that the engineering department on the East Coast closed at a certain time, and did not father contact them while they were open, and four hours after I arrived told me that they “closed 30 minutes ago“ and I would have to wait until the next day for them to contact the engineering department. The reason for their need to contact them was for the “meaning“ of the codes, which he saw when I brought the vehicle in. The fact that he didn’t think to contact them while they were open boggles my mind. He has disappeared and has not gotten back to me despite many attempts to contact him contact and I would give this version of Brian 0 out of 5 stars. The event: after being at the dealership for approximately five hours, Brian told me that his advice is that he was able to get the vehicle working, and he recommended I do not use any fast chargers. He stated that I should use the j-1772 slow charger only and assured me that that was working properly. Well, it definitely was not. It took me over three days to get back to the San Francisco Bay Area – a trip that is typically only 4 to 6 hours. I was at the first charging station for 13 hours, and my charge only increased by 12%. I was at the second charger for 17 hours and my charge increased 51%. You can guess how it went from there. I spent Thursday through Sunday night at various Slow charging stations (8-10kW/h) and on Monday I called him and left him a voicemail. I left him three more voicemails that week, as well as sending him text messages. The Monday that I arrived back, I had my vehicle towed (I’d run out of charge) to the Nissan dealership in the bay area. The exact thing that I feared would happen, and voiced to Brian that I feared would happen, happened. The dealership stated that the vehicle charged “just fine,“ and they drove it around to drain some of the battery and charged it a second time and a third time and it worked “perfectly.“ They stated that they contacted Brian, not a shock to me – he did not respond to them either. I told them what Brian told me, his instructions were that he did not clear the codes and to tell the dealership to contact the engineering department… The dealership treated me like I was a moron, and told me “why would we do that? They’re just gonna tell us the same thing we’re telling you. we put the charging cable in it works just fine that’s it. I don’t know what you expect us to do.“ I’ve had an experience like this before with Nissan dealerships. The reason why I kept coming back to Nissan Thousand Oaks was because it was the first Nissan dealership I’d found in my 20+ years of owning Nissans where I actually had a comfortable experience. I have gone to this dealership for all of my service on my old car, and purchased a brand new Ariya in February (first new car since 2013 and I specifically chose this dealership) because of my good experiences with them. Sadly, a high-speed chase annihilated my 2024 Ariya while it was parked in a parking lot, so I returned only a few months later to purchase this vehicle in June. Since my two purchases, I have not had good experiences at this dealership – what is going on?? Until recently, I had only had a couple of bad experiences. I’m furious now. Not only am I not hearing back from the person who sold me the vehicle, who gave me false information about the vehicle and I stupidly purchased site unseen because I trusted them, and I’m still waiting for the parts that we’re missing on this one – but now I can’t get in touch with Brian- the person who screwed me over on my service.
