For over 40 years I have been buying Ford vehicles. Initially because my best friend Dave Embs sold them but I chose to keep returning because I fell in love with the Ford Pickup. As a longtime business owner of 2 companies my main priority has always been personal touch and taking care of my customers That is exactly why I continue to deal with Van Drunen Ford. From Bob in the body shop, Dave and Penny in the service department, Bruce, Skip, Barb, chances are when walking in you’re calling someone by their first name and get treated like family and top priority. We lost Dave Embs this year, which later put me at a loss from buying my new truck. I looked at other dealerships and vehicles unsure what to do. But, where did I end up? Van Drunen Ford. A true family dealership! I have known Skip since I was 7 as he was my little league coach.. Like any typical male in their 20s, I wanted to get a new, flashy car every year - I have known Skip since I was 7 as he was my little league coach.. Like any typical male in their 20s, I wanted to get a new, flashy car every year - buy a car, trade it in. Buy a car, trade it in. I went to Skip (as he has sold my whole family cars for as long as I can remember) and told him I wanted to get another car because I was bored with the one I had. Had I gone to any other dealer, every other typical car salesman would have jumped on it and tried to sell me the most expensive car for my taste with all the bells and whistles... but not Skip. I came to Skip and asked him to crunch some numbers for me so I can consider it. As crazy as it may sound for a car salesman, Skip refused. He told me he was not going to do that because I was not in need of another car. It would not have made any sense to get rid of the one I had just to showboat another car. He told me it was a waste of my time and money and refused to help me because he cared about me like I was his son. If that doesn't scream, commitment, dedication, loyalty, and care - all the qualities you want in a local family dealership, I don't know what does. Both Skip and Bruce have been great to my family and I and never fail to greet us every time we are there with a smile, willing to do anything we needed to make our experience at Van Drunen Ford a positive one. It's no surprise that Van Drunen Ford is Chicagoland's oldest Ford dealership with a staff as great as theirs. Helping change families and lives for the better since 1930! They kept my desired max payment in mind at all times, and were able to come up with a brand new, fully warrantied vehicle without exceeding my amount! Other dealers had tried to convince me to spend a bit (or lot) more - but these guys made sure I didn't go over budget and not once did I feel pressured to make a different decision. They made the whole buying process an enjoyable one. You truly feel like a valued member of the family. So knowledgeable.
