Reneged on Kelly Blue Book cash offer I had a "guaranteed" offer for my 2012 Mercedes SL63 AMG through the Kelly Blue Book program. I received an email from Herb Connolly Chevrolet inviti I had a "guaranteed" offer for my 2012 Mercedes SL63 AMG through the Kelly Blue Book program. I received an email from Herb Connolly Chevrolet inviting me to bring the car in and complete the transaction. The car is absolutely immaculate and 100% as represented when I submitted the information for Kelly Blue Book to process the offer. (In fact, the mileage is actually not even quite the 12,000 that I provided to Kelly for the offer). Well, I brought the car in today and they wouldn't honor the offer and instead, offered $61,000. No explanation; just an arrogant "take it or leave it" attitude. This is classic bait and switch and I've filed a complaint with Kelly Blue Book, who said that their Corporate Affairs Department would investigate. The dealer is going to take the position that the offer is contingent on an inspection of the car and confirmation that the information provided on the questionnaire was consistent with the actual condition of the car. That's a perfectly reasonable position as I wouldn't expect anyone to be held to an offer without actually seeing the car and performing this verification. In this case, Carter Hastings from Herb Connolly performed a perfunctory inspection of the interior and the only issue he found was a barely perceptible hairline scratch in any otherwise showroom finish exterior and interior. This hairline scratch could not possibly result in a $4,000 reduction in the value of the car. This dealer was obviously looking for some pretense to lower the offering price. In fact, when I spoke with Kelly Blue Book yesterday following this incident, they pointed out that this type of nitpicky defect-finding is not consistent with the intent of this program. The actions of Herb Connolly demonstrated extremely bad faith. These are not honest folks and I strongly urge others to avoid dealing with them. More

By February, the tailpipe and muffler fell off, the left front strut was blown, the rear differential housing was leaking, the power steering rack was leaking. The quote for repairs was $6,045. Then, I learned the truck was under an active frame recall because of a safety issue. In less than two months, I had it in for service 3 times, then it sat on the lot for the next three months while I waited for a new frame. When I finally got it back in June, the used car manager said they would replace the muffler and strut, but refused the remaining $3,400 worth of repairs because the 30 day warranty had passed. The used car manager said he knew nothing about the safety recall or the host of other problems with the truck when he sold it to me. This is either incompetence or negligence. Either way, I'm stuck with a truck I've driven for two out of the last six months that needs thousands of dollars of work. This is how Herb Connolly Chevrolet does business. More

Autotrader: Sell or Trade in Market Place I was in the Market to sell my car. I did my research on KBB, Cars.com, and NADA. I knew what my car was worth. What a Hassle...... Way too many dreamers who wanted the car at a wholesale price! I decided to give Autotraders Trade-in/Sell feature a try. It took about 10 minutes to complete the questionaire and I instantly received an offer from three dealerships. I heard from Carter Hastings, Used Car Manager at Herb Connolly Chevrolet first. I was a little reluctant about the process, but I can honestly say that the experience was great.......Carter appraised the car, gave me a day to think it over, no pressure. The offer was reasonable and fair. I had a check in my hand within 30 minutes. While i was waiting, I happen to be watching a few people test ride a few cars and work with their sales staff. The salespeople seemed genuinely interested in helping each person find the right car with no pressure. They answered their questions honestly and sincerely. When I am in the market for another car, I definitely will come back to see what Herb Connolly's three dealership have on their lot. If you are considering selling your car or trading it in, I recommend that you take it to Herb Connolly and see what you can work out with Carter Hastings. It's definitely worth the trip...... More

After contacting them I was responded to promptly by Lou Bove the internet manager. After reading great reviews about Lou I asked if he could stay involved in the transaction which he did. I had many questions and details to be addressed throughout the sale process and Lou handled everything to my complete satisfaction. I live more than an hour away from the dealership and Lou sent a driver to pick me up the day I took delivery. Rodrigo Roa the general sales manager sharpened his pencil too make the pricing acceptable. Carter Hastings the used vehicle manager made sure all reconditioning required for certification was done correctly in a timely manner. Buying a used car has a lot of moving parts to the puzzle and this puzzle resulted in a great car, at a great price from great people! More
