A misleading experience with significant financial loss and no proper support. I cannot recommend Horne Mazda to anyone. The dealership’s sales approach appeared to guide customers primarily toward the option they preferred to sell, rather than presenting all choices transparently. In my case, this resulted in considerable financial loss and disappointment, without any meaningful acknowledgment afterward. On August 10, 2025, I visited Horne Mazda in Arizona to discuss the lease-end return of my 2023 CX-5 (~38,000 miles). My original plan was to return the vehicle, with an estimated penalty of about $1,200 plus other fees. The sales representative insisted that the penalty would be much higher and strongly pushed me toward a trade-in for a new vehicle. Despite my repeated requests, I was never provided with written documentation comparing the lease-return option with the trade-in. The discussion lasted several hours and focused solely on the trade-in. Before signing, I again asked about the lease-return penalty. I was only shown a phone calculation of approximately $14,000, without any written proof. The next day, I returned to the dealership to clarify the penalty and the total cost for returning the vehicle only. At that point, I was reluctantly shown a service record dated the same day as the contract, which had not been provided to me during the entire sales process. This record listed my CX-5 mileage as 99,633 miles, while the actual service record from July 19, 2025 at the same dealership showed 37,714 miles. This discrepancy of more than 60,000 miles in less than one month created confusion and led me to make a purchase under unclear circumstances. I ended up with a new vehicle I had not originally planned to buy, which caused an unexpected financial burden.
