Not How to do Business. I recently bought a 2008 Jeep Wrangler from Sundance. I'd wanted a Wrangler for a loooong time and found one that seemed a reasonable combination of I recently bought a 2008 Jeep Wrangler from Sundance. I'd wanted a Wrangler for a loooong time and found one that seemed a reasonable combination of years, miles and price so I went there to test drive it. I had a mechanic friend come with me for a test drive and the vehicle seemed sound so I bought it. Paid in full with a cashier's check. Now my salesman was friendly, professional and seemed genuine. My issue is more with the practice of selling used cars at Sundance. I understand that there is an element of 'buyer beware' with purchasing anything, especially a used vehicle but some of the things that Sundance left undone were irresponsible and potentially dangerous. After I bought it I took it to a mechanic near my house (2 hrs away) and they came up with over $2000 worth of work that needed to be done. The fluids in both the front and rear differential had not been changed since 2008. The steering stabilizer needed to be replaced and despite the fact that I had told them I was excited for the open air driving experience, neither of the doors came off. All this needed to be addressed after the purchase. Come on now, how much does it cost an operation of this size to change some fluids and replace a couple of parts? A week or so after the purchase, I received a form letter from the 'President' of Sundance Chevy hoping that my experience had been great and that I'd refer folks to his dealership. Not likely. I hand wrote a letter back to him about 3 weeks later asking that he split the cost with me. Haven't heard a peep. Needless to say, I won't be back and I can't recommend them. More
