I am a senior female and I wanted to buy a car. I hadn't purchased a car since 2015. I had trouble finding the right vehicle. I worked with Cliff (salesman) as I searched for the right fit for me. I hadn't purchased a car since 2015. I had trouble finding the right vehicle. I worked with Cliff (salesman) as I searched for the right fit for me. I have a bad back. I think it made me look very vulnerable. When I finally found a vehicle I wanted to purchase the sales manager Patrick was ready to abuse me to the maximum as he assured me he was going to take care of me and I had nothing to worry about. I found the car on line. It was priced in the 28K range. The salesman Cliff thought the price was 31K range. The sales manager Patrick told Cliff he had just lowered the price that morning. Then the number game was started. The paper work had the price of the car listed differently to raise it to the $31K. I refused the car after I saw the top page of the paperwork. They took the price from $28K to $38K. I was told that I qualified for the gold plan and I had 10 days to give the car back for any reason. Patrick's told me in order for them to take the car back I had to register the title. All of that was a lie. After I registered the title then i was told the car didn't qualify for the gold plan even though I had been charged for it so they could only do me a favor and trade the car back after a different purchase of another vehicle purchase from them. I chose a SUV and when Patrick quoted the price it ended up being a $9K lost value from the 1st purchase. I had been charged for the gold plan then told my car did not qualify for the ability to exchange the car. I asked him which car on the lot did qualify for the program. He said he didn't have any that would qualify. This frustration caused me to experienced my first anxiety attack. The experience was a nightmare. I needed the paper work to show the lies I had been told. I had to get a copy of the paper work from Meritrust CU the loan lender office. They took me thru hoops. I was trying to talk to the gen manager because I couldn't trust Patrick. I only talked to the gen mgr. twice but never in a manner to resolve my problem with the experience. I asked him for the paper work that I had signed. The general mgr. talked to me and told me there was no paperwork. It was such a mess they never produced the original paperwork. It was a heartless experience. I would not treat anyone the way they treated me. So many lies. delays and deceptive practices. Then Patrick would not cancel all those extra purchased options I had said I didn't want from the beginning. I asked to see the paper work for the optional purchases that I had unwillingly purchased. Patrick said he didn't have anything to show me. I insisted he had something that explained what I was being sold. The actual documents stated I could cancel them in 30 days without a penalty. Patrick still would only cancel 2 of the three even though I was reading the document where they said I could cancel them. I am still waiting to get my refund from the title registration. It was an awful experience. I learned to Never deal with dealerships that don't disclose their fees. They charge you for them even though you are saying you don't want them. Then you find out that the days to return the vehicle was all a lie. Very deceptive. Now as I have read some of the other reviews I see that this is not a new practice. It has been done before. I wonder how many fell into this trap. More
