This is what car buying should be. We drove onto the lot to look at a used RAV4. My wife didn’t care for that car, so they asked if she’d like to see something else… a Cadillac. We We drove onto the lot to look at a used RAV4. My wife didn’t care for that car, so they asked if she’d like to see something else… a Cadillac. We were definitely not in the market for a Cadillac, but my wife loved the vehicle. We had a preapproval with Capital One and they took it; no questions asked. They didn’t try to get me to shop the rate with a host of other lenders. The sales person looked it over and went to the back. I thought, “Here we go.” But, no… all he did was bring us an itemization that matched CapOne nearly perfectly, then reran it to get it to match! They gave us what we needed on our trade and got us into a much nicer vehicle than we were looking for and stayed within our budget. The finance guy was actually a pleasure to speak with, and when we finished signing, this surreal buying experience was not over yet. As we walked out of his office, the entire staff clapped to celebrate my wife and her new car! As we walked around the corner, there was a large TV with a picture of the car and a message congratulating us on the purchase of the vehicle. In the midst of this, a gentleman came to shake our hand and introduced himself as the owner. Remember, we were on a Rav 4 budget. You would have thought we bought an $85K Cadillac. I’ve left a lot of dealerships feeling exhausted as if I’d just been through a fight. It’s difficult to enjoy your new vehicle when that happens. It’s exhausting. That is not the experience we had here. This was quick, easy, transparent, and literally celebratory! More
