He desired 2025 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited on their dealership website. My wife and called on a Monday holiday (Labor Day) and Robert answered. He confirmed that they had an inbound unit on the way and it hadn’t been sold yet. That was amazing news because j had already contacted between 5-10 Toyota dealers within a 300 mile radius who had shown Hybrid Limited models on their websites only to be told that they had been either already sold or were factory orders by customers. I was told by these salesmen that they had done searches for Highlander Hybrids to no avail and the models they had seen were all either Platinums or XLE’s. They told me that i would either have to compromise and purchase a model that they had in inventory (like a non-hybrid version or a much more expensive Grand Highlander) or my only other option was to factory order the Hybrid Limited which could take several months. The last wasn’t a plausible option because insurance had totaled my wife’s car and we needed something quickly. I also didn’t want to give up so easily by compromising. Luckily, I didn’t and apparently I didn’t need to. When Robert told me that the unit they had inbound hadn’t been sold yet, we asked if he could accept a deposit to hold it for us. He agreed and took our payment over the phone. I explained that we were looking for the Limited but didnt want a lot of extra options and he was able to remove several of the higher price options that were installed by the distributor at the port - to keep it within our affordable price range. He also was able to work with us on the price even though the model was highly sought after and often demanded at MSRP (or at least close to it). When we originally spoke with Robert, he estimated that delivery to the dealership would take between 3-4 weeks. That was problematic because the rental our insurance was paying for was expiring the next week. When Robert heard this, he offered to get us a rental from their fleet at a rate much lower than we would’ve paid locally. He also under-promised and over-delivered on our Highlander’s delivery. After only 11 days it made it on the lot. A day later we made the hour and a half drive to Tulsa to pick it up and complete the purchase. Robert was transparent about pricing and all of the factory and dealer warranties. He also took the time to show us all the features of our new Highlander. After taking his time with us, he introduced us to finance to complete our purchase. After we finished there, he caught up with us again to send us off in our new vehicle. Robert was a professional from start to finish and I highly recommend him if you’re in the market for a new Toyota. He has over 20 years of experience and is fair and honest, unlike some car salesmen. I will be sending my friends and family his way, and I’d I decide to purchase another new vehicle then he’ll be my first call. More
