I brought my vehicle in under the assumption that the fuel pump had failed. The dashboard showed over half a tank of fuel, so it seemed like the logical issue. After inspection, your technicians confirme fuel pump had failed. The dashboard showed over half a tank of fuel, so it seemed like the logical issue. After inspection, your technicians confirmed that a new fuel pump was required, quoting me over $1,400 for the repair. I ultimately chose not to have the work done at South Bay Infiniti and instead took the vehicle to a trusted family friend since they could do the work that day. Upon arrival, we discovered that the tank was completely empty — not even close to half full. I have photo evidence to support this. We refueled the car, reinstalled the same fuel pump, and the vehicle started without any issues. The fuel gauge also read accurately afterward. Frankly, I’m extremely disappointed in the lack of thoroughness from your service department. Rather than properly diagnosing the problem, the technicians jumped straight to an expensive and unnecessary repair. This not only erodes my trust in your dealership, but also raises serious concerns about the integrity and competence of the service team. I’ve been a loyal South Bay Infiniti customer for many years, consistently bringing my vehicles in for service. However, this experience has made me seriously reconsider continuing to do so. On top of the inaccurate diagnosis, I was charged a $250 diagnostic fee for a problem that was ultimately misidentified. Given the circumstances, I believe a refund of this fee is more than reasonable and hope it will be processed promptly. More
