My 86 year old father was sold a used car at 135% of its value, he had just lost his wife of 61 years , I am writing as his advocate because he lives alone and no one was with him when he decided to do something that would make him feel better after such a difficult loss! I was contacted after my review on facebook and my detailed email to request refunding the excessive charges to my father. They requested we come back to dealership to talk between 2-3 that day.... I immediately responded that we were not able to be there at that time due to Drs appointments that were critical to his health ( he walks with a walker and has a failing heart) and could not make the 50 minute drive to be there in time . We offered to talk via phone at the same time - we waited by the phone with no call from GM or Maria ( customer relations ). We finally were able to talk and agreed to have my father come in and sign documents to cancel bogus costs and warranties on Dec 4th. We spent 3 months constantly following up looking for the refunds to the loan to make this awful sale close to the true value of the car so my father would not be so far in the hole.. They charged him $500 for a pre-owned certified vehicle and then gave him 2 sets of broken keys - one that didn’t even belong to the vehicle he purchased. In addition the vehicle window tinting was a grade that is illegal in state of Florida, my father drove it for 3 months before we discovered this, he could have been stopped & fined, how is that not caught in a quality check and part of the pre-own certification? Unfortunately my father died before they ever made it right and this was his last impression of how a business treats Veterans. Think long and hard before you consider doing business here. Jenkins Hyundai of Ocala still owes him money, unfortunately I spent to much time fighting this as may fathers advocate that I can’t keep this as my final memory so am not going to bother... keep the $ Jenkins! More
