Went in based on a cars. com posting of a used car. Was contacted promptly and an appointment was made to drive and look at the car. After a test drive and discussion about moving forward based upon the advertised price, I was told that because they had done some work to the vehicle prior to our arrival, that the price would actually be $2000 more than advertised ($300 worth of parts and $1700 in labor). The definition of bait and switch. Ultimately, they agreed upon the advertised price but the fact that it was even brought up and discussed blew my mind. I was also surprised to find a $500 service fee that was slipped in there as well. Was it a terrible experience? No. But I’ve consistently had much better experiences at other dealers. More

I did appreciate Ethan's laid-back style and assistance in making my initial decision on a vehicle (I do love my CX-30 so far). However actually finishing the deal was quite frustrating. Specifically, the lack of urgency on the day of purchase despite my stated time constraints and the runaround I received on the Xzilon package (couldn't be done properly and driven home on the day of purchase after this was agreed to). After coming in on a Saturday for initial care viewings made an appointment to come back at open 9AM with Ethan on Tuesday to finish a deal, noting that only the morning worked for my wife and I as we were both working that afternoon. When we arrived within 5 minutes of opening, Ethan was already occupied with another customer at his desk so we had to wait on that. Somewhat frustrating since we had time constraints and felt a bit disrespectful since we had made an appointment, but not sure of the circumstances of the person he was working with figured it may have been urgent. But ultimately it did take ~3 hours to finish the deal and paperwork without even getting a full rundown of my car features (to his credit Ethan did offer, but I had to leave to go to work by this point). Not sure how much of this had to do with Ethan vs the dealership itself, but I was not a fan of the Xzilon package add-on that appeared on my initial cost paperwork without receiving any prior information on it - felt this was another unexpected time sink to work through while finishing the deal. And once I had already started signing paperwork- I was then told that the guy who usually did the coating actually wasn't there that day. This happening after we had already verbally agreed to have it done that day while finishing the paperwork- felt at best disrespectful of my time if not deliberately deceptive. Not sure I would have agreed to this premium upcharge if I'd known there would be a runaround to get it done (needing to return across town and wait to have it done on Friday, after my Thursday appointment was needed to be rescheduled 2 hours prior due to a service tech call-in). Also for this review I was asked to rate Adam O'Brien appears to be in management, I do not recall being greeted or speaking to anyone named "Adam." Believe I worked with Sone on the final paperwork, appreciated him explaining each step with apparent accuracy. Was still trying to sell me on extended warranties while going through it but appreciated he seemed open and transparent about the costs and coverage. More

So the my experience with these people wasn’t bad going into the sale even though it was very brushed off and seemed not important and helpful prior to arriving to the dealership. When I arrived and walked into the sale even though it was very brushed off and seemed not important and helpful prior to arriving to the dealership. When I arrived and walked out to the car for a test drive there was an ever so slight scent in the car like very slightly so I asked Ethan if the previous owner was a smoker which he answered with a “no”. So I brushed off the smell as a cleaner from detailing the car or something like that. We moved forward and made the purchase where most everything went well after that was all settled. Ethan told me it would be just a moment and the car would be pulled around where I didn’t think much of that. And then the wait happened it took then about 45min to an hour after I made the purchase to get the car pulled around, and I was not to happy about that and was very irritated. I began my drive back home which was about a 3 1/2 - 4hr drive the car handled great and I was very happy with my purchase at first. And then I got home went to take off the hoodie I was wearing and smelled a stringer cigarette smell, (I do not smoke and neither does anyone in my house hold do so either). So I went back to the car and smelled a faint smokers smell coming from the inside. So I decided to give it a couple hours and went back to the car and really caught that smoke smell. Mind you this car is only a year old and is certified preowned I’m not to sure about what all goes into that but a person would think Mazda would hold that to a standard that a car that was previously smoked in wouldn’t be aloud to be in. I plan on currently doing some things that I read about getting that smell out this weekend when I get time and if that doesn’t work. I will be consulting the sales manager at the dealership I purchased the car from as well as corporate Mazda to resolve this issue. I’m not looking to get a new car or anything like that but I am looking to Russ Darrow Mazda and Mazda to make this issue right. More
