We had agreed on a payment and Trade in value for my car. But instead of giving me what we agreed on my Trade in, they added to the car value. So on papers, it looked like I got what we agreed on my Trade in, but the balance was added to my car value. I emailed the manager and finance person, no one gave me an explanation yet More

Don't buy from this dealership. I have never been treated this terribly from any company, ever. I purchased an RDX from Arlington Acura in Palatine a month ago, and they completed the paperwork incorrectly this terribly from any company, ever. I purchased an RDX from Arlington Acura in Palatine a month ago, and they completed the paperwork incorrectly to the DMV. They didn't calculate the tax correctly, they didn't fill out the information accurately such as the odometer form, and other mistakes. I can't believe an Acura dealership treats people this way. I have called their GM Gene Shankman several times, and he never calls me back. All their managers voicemails are full not accepting new voicemail messages. The only person you get to talk with on the phone is their receptionist and their BDC sales person. More

I financed 2020 MDX from Arlington Acura, Palatine, IL. Dealer withheld WI state sales tax at time of purchase/financing. Dealer at time of purchase stated that they would send sales tax to state of WI but Dealer withheld WI state sales tax at time of purchase/financing. Dealer at time of purchase stated that they would send sales tax to state of WI but never paid it to state of WI. I received notice from WI state for unpaid sales tax along with penalty/fine. Attempted calling the dealer multiple times - left numerous messages with receptionist as well as voice mails to both finance manager (Ideen Ghaffari) and General manager (Chase Rohrman) but no response. They just choose to ignore calls. Such a bad customer experience. Finally after over 1.5 weeks of multiple phone calls heard from GM who did mail me the tax check but did not pay the penalty levied on by state due to unpaid tax though it was dealership fault for not sending the withheld taxes appropriately to WI state. To me the dealership committed fraud by keeping tax money with them. I felt cheated by dealership and no assistance from Acura client services. Also, they delayed my car registration for 3 months due to not sending me the required documents to take to my state DMV in order to get license plates. Again very bad communication with dealership during this time as well. Very disappointed by the Acura dealership. I thought Acura was a luxury brand but I was mistaken More

Please be VERY careful with this dealership. I would state not to go to them at all, but if you must then proceed with caution. It was a very long 2 month battle with them that had to be escalated to th state not to go to them at all, but if you must then proceed with caution. It was a very long 2 month battle with them that had to be escalated to the point of getting the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General involved to find a resolution, which resulted in a return of over $5,000 in shorted and wrongful charges. What went wrong? A lot. 1. They failed to collect enough funds for taxes and registration. I was shorted about $400 in taxes and they fought me on refunding that amount by saying that it was only “county taxes” (county tax only amounts to $84) 2. It took 35 days (I was told it would be 14 days) to get my paperwork and taxes/fees necessary for registration of my car. It was also over a week longer than reported to get my trade in paid off. 3. I was charged almost $2000 for a service that was merely listed as RPF. No explanation anywhere and no evidence of a completed service. I was originally told it was part of the mandated fees. Until I received my paperwork in the mail did I see other language had been scratched out labeling it rust protection. No one told me I was being charged for the service, whatever it is. 4. I was charged $399 for etch fees – Again, I was not informed that this was a service and that I could opt out. 5. After I refinanced the loan more than a month went by before they would refund my GAP insurance and extended warranty, and they did so only after I involved the Attorney General. 6. Communication was extremely poor. The salesman was evasive and unhelpful, and the general manager. was extremely difficult to get in touch with, and slow returning any messages. At one point it took him a month to get back in touch with me. The staff very often had their inboxes too full to leave a message, and when I could leave a message it was difficult to get a return call. 7. They would tell me they had mailed my documentation or refunds but then I looked at the postmarked dates and they were much later than reported. I had to try and contact them frequently for any of this to be done. My advice? Find another dealer. Based on mine and apparently, many others, considering the reviews both here and at the Better Business Bureau. But if you must go there do the following: 1. Take your time and carefully check your paperwork. It doesn’t matter what they say, because they will lie. All that matters is what they put down on paper. 2. If you live outside of Illinois collect information on the true cost of taxes and registration. 3. Do not let them put ANYTHING as an acronym on your contracts. If they do, then request they write it out. 4. If there are any issues don’t expect the management to help you. More
