Joe Rodriguez

Richard Ruiz was okay to work with and did help me throughout the purchase, but the overall experience with the dealership left a lot to be desired. For some reason, I had multiple salespeople cont throughout the purchase, but the overall experience with the dealership left a lot to be desired. For some reason, I had multiple salespeople contacting me even after I made it very clear that I was only dealing with Richard. The biggest issue was Joe. At one point, Joe contacted me and flat-out identified himself as Richard. When I asked who was texting me, the response was: “Richard with Classic Chevy Sugarland. I work with Joe. We had the 2019 Ram ready for you.” I immediately knew something was wrong because Richard already knew my travel plans and when I was getting there. I called Joe out directly and told him that if he had any questions, he needed to go through Richard and not contact me again. Used car salesmen already have a reputation for being dishonest, and situations like this are exactly why. In my experience, Joe came across as the textbook sleazy used car salesman. He lied to me about who he was, and I still have the text messages showing exactly what happened. There were also issues with the truck itself and how the dealership handled them. There was a camera installed in the vehicle throughout the sales process and up until just a few days before I arrived. Somehow, nobody thought it would be a good idea to tell me that the “former owner” supposedly wanted the camera back. I had seen the camera in the truck and naturally believed it was part of the vehicle I was purchasing. By the time I arrived at the dealership, the camera had already been removed. I did not get the courtesy of being told beforehand that something I had seen in the vehicle was going to be taken out. Finding out after I got there was extremely disappointing. The tire pressure sensor warning was another issue. I specifically asked Richard to have it taken care of before I traveled there to pick up the truck. Yet when I arrived, it still had not been properly handled. Instead of replacing all of the sensors that were causing the problem, they only repaired or replaced a few of them. By the time I made it back to Louisiana, another sensor had already failed and I had to replace it myself. That is especially frustrating considering all the extra dealer charges they want to add to the price of a vehicle. If you are going to charge customers all of these additional fees, then take the time to actually make sure the vehicle is in good condition before the customer arrives, especially when that customer is traveling from another state to buy it. And if an accessory is in the vehicle throughout the sales process, do not remove it before the customer arrives without even having the courtesy to tell them. To be clear, Richard Ruiz was okay and did help me. My biggest problems were with how the dealership handled the vehicle and with Joe. Joe lied to me about who he was. That is not an assumption or a misunderstanding. He contacted me and identified himself as Richard when he was not Richard, and I have the text messages to prove it. Overall, the purchase got done, but the dealership experience could have been handled much more professionally. More
