I am originally from Dunlap, Illinois, but now live in Groveland. I have a lovely wife, and two kids, a son and a daughter. My interests include golf, yard work, spending time with my family, and attending my son's special Olympics events. What I love most about working for Uftring is the way we are all treated, and the way we pay it forward. The Uftring Subaru family's values are unmatched which keeps me coming back. When it comes to selling, I love the relationships I am lucky to be a part of, the customers that turn into friends, and the opportunity to help new and existing customers. I, myself am a Mustang guy, but I would love to find the right fit of vehicle for you!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE Scam Artist took my car here for a simple sensor and it was out for 4 weeks I tried calling and couldn’t get an answer multiple times, I get a call back and they took my car here for a simple sensor and it was out for 4 weeks I tried calling and couldn’t get an answer multiple times, I get a call back and they want $3000 for a repair that they broke, I call corporate and got my money back for the repair. Worked at MY pace. John Applen helped us find our perfect SUV. We went in and told him what we were looking for and gave our contact information. Within a week of search John Applen helped us find our perfect SUV. We went in and told him what we were looking for and gave our contact information. Within a week of searching he contacted us with a vehicle coming in that may be what we were looking for. We went and looked at it and bought it the same day. John was great about goin at our pace with no pressure. He gave us time to discuss things over privately and answered all our questions. More

He treated us with kindness, did not push us in making a decision, had extensive knowledge about the many options on the car we were debating on and finally, was able to answer our questions without saying 'I think so' or making us feel inferior. We test drove all three in one day so we would be able to compare them as fairly as possible. The Subaru Forester won in two ways -- the vehicle itself and the level of attention and service that we got from both sales people who helped us -- Rob Applegate and John Applen. While John advised us that we would have to review our vehicle owner's manual for all features of our new vehicle, he took the time needed to ensure that we understood what we needed to know to safely drive the vehicle away for the first time from the dealership. Great job! More

First Car Buying Experience Went Surprisingly Well John made my first dealership car purchase an exciting and informative experience. He displayed a great ability to translate my desired vehicle features and specifications into a couple of different suggested vehicles. John was very knowledgeable of the cars on the lot, and made sure to follow up with timely answers to the few questions he did not know right off the bat. If I have family or friends who need a new vehicle, I would tell them to start with John. On the numbers side, Randy was also very helpful. He filled in to answer questions about my vehicle while the Sales member was occupied. He tuned his negotiation to his audience with me being a young adult (pushed the limit a time or two when discussing my personal budget, but not to the point where I felt disrespected). He drove a hard bargain, but in the end I think we arrived at a very fair price. More

Another great car from John Applen I was a little upset that Ford stopped making the Focus station wagon which had seemed a good fit for me two times previously. But I did some thinkin I was a little upset that Ford stopped making the Focus station wagon which had seemed a good fit for me two times previously. But I did some thinking and decided to go with the Subaru Outback which had gotten many good reviews. I stopped in and told John what I was looking for - he suggested a car that, unknown to him, I had just been looking at. He made the rest easy - letting me drive the car to get a feel for it and going over all the features. Dave Brown explained the financing options in an understandable and prompt manner. So far - very good experience. More
