My auto sales career began on June 22, 2020, following three years in education. Me and my wife are the PROUD parents of one son, the best son ever! During my time as an educator, I was also a basketball & baseball coach (youth, middle, and high school). I'm a Certified Mentor & Life Coach, and an ordained pastor. I look forward to assisting you with your vehicle needs: purchase/lease, trade, sale, warranty extension, or possibly save you money on insurance. #goTarHeels #goSteelers #goYankees

I tend to dislike the process of looking at and purchasing cars but LaMar made the process much better. He was thoughtful, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. He went with the flow, giving me plenty of space to consider my options, but was always ready to show me the next feature or car. He must have shown me 5 cars in less than 20 minutes without any hesitation. I honestly had no intention of buying a car that day, but LaMar was able to find a car in the exact color I wanted. Before I knew it we were signing the paperwork. Everyone at Hall Hyundai Newport News was extremely helpful and pleasant to be around, I would not hesitate to come back and work with LaMar again. Everyone we dealt with from the Management to sales, to finance, to the cashier were all wonderful. Very communicative and helpful. I purchased a new Genesis GV70 on Dec 27, 2021. In the current market, I was happy that there was no additional markup over MSRP. I also received a reasonable offer for my trade. I had asked if they had current market, I was happy that there was no additional markup over MSRP. I also received a reasonable offer for my trade. I had asked if they had a GV80 and told them I would prefer that model. They said no. With the availability of new vehicles, I decided to purchase the GV70 since it was close to what I had wanted. I concede that it was my decision and I was not pressured. When signing the paperwork, there was a form that said a 7 day exchange period. While waiting for the GV70 to be prepared, I told the sales manager if they get a GV80 in that period, I would be more than happy to utilize that exchange offer. He said, OK and would let me know if one came in. I left with the vehicle around 5pm. I returned to Hall the next morning to ask some questions on setting up various features as no owner's manual was included with the car. I told the salesman to not forget to let me know if a GV80 was available in the exchange period. He then said, our other Hall Genesis dealer might have one, let's check. And... of course, they did. I am fairly upset that this information was not provided before I bought the GV70. I had learned that Hall Newport News would no longer be a Genesis dealer in 4 days and would have had to send any new Genesis in stock to another dealer. Losing the sale. It is my suspicion that even though I expressed many times I would prefer a larger GV80, they neglected to provide the information that another Hall dealer may have one available so they could sell the GV70 in stock before having to transfer it. During the sale and while waiting for paperwork or other items, the salesman would take phone calls or just get up and leave to talk with other salespeople or customers without a word to me. I found to be unprofessional. At least excuse yourself. With my trade in, after all fees, vehicle price, etc. they owe me over $10K. I asked then how they would get this to me. The salesman admitted, he had no idea. I texted again today, a week later, in what form and when I should expect the owed balance... no response. Same result with when I can expect an owner's manual. Prior to the sale, I pointed out a few small, light scratches on the rear bumper. I was told that their paint tech was not available and would be in Thurs of last week and I would be contacted to bring the vehicle in... still have not heard from them. During paperwork signing, the "we owe" form stated something to the effect of "repair scratches on bumper". I looked today for that form in the folder they gave me at end of sale and realized I was not provided a copy. I assume they will still honor but wonder why it was not included. *** I tried to submit this survey but must select whether or not I would recommend this dealership. I left it blank because I am on the fence. A reasonable trade value was given, no markup on GV70 (possibly because they had to sell it in 4 days). Although, I had attempted to order a GT500 from Hall Ford the week prior but they would not allow an order without a $10K markup over MSRP. So, I assume the various Hall dealers are putting markups on all vehicles that they are not on a time crunch to sell. I will put not recommend for now but may change it if ever contacted for explanation on neglecting to inform of GV80 availability, when and how I will receive balance owed, owner's manual, and bumper repair.
