I had one of the worst dealership experiences I’ve ever had with Nissan. I have been leasing and purchasing Nissan rogues for ten years now, I’ve never really had a great experience but this time I brought had with Nissan. I have been leasing and purchasing Nissan rogues for ten years now, I’ve never really had a great experience but this time I brought my 2.5-year-old car in for a check engine light and an oil change, only to be told that it already had a faulty transmission valve and emissions issue. Thankfully, the parts and labor were covered under warranty (even though I was just outside the coverage window), but honestly, I think they knew how unusual it is for a car this new to have transmission problems. That alone is concerning. The loaner car they gave me was disgusting—trash inside, it reeked of BO and onions to the point that I felt sick driving it unless the windows were down. Completely unacceptable. They told me my car would be ready the next day (Thursday). Then Friday passed with no word. I had to call Monday, only to find out my service advisor was “out of the office.” I was told Tuesday, then it turned into Wednesday. When I finally got the call at 4:10pm that my car was ready, I rushed through traffic (over 30 minutes away) and barely made it by closing time. I didn’t even have the chance to refill the loaner fully, but I returned it at 3/4 tank—the same as when I received it. The next day I realized I left my garage remote in the loaner. When I called about it, I got a voicemail from someone else saying I owed nearly half a tank of gas at $5 a gallon (when it’s around $3 locally) and an additional $150 cleaning fee—for a car that was filthy when I got it! After I pushed back, they eventually waived the cleaning fee but still charged me $45 for gas. Ridiculous. To make matters worse, they promised a complimentary car wash, but my vehicle was not washed. When I pointed out the dog slobber marks that had been there for weeks, the staff tried to pass it off as “water streaks” because “we don’t have dryers.” Absolutely insulting. This is the third recall on my car in just 2.5 years. Between the transmission issue, the recalls, the filthy loaner, the lack of communication, the surprise fees, and the broken promises, I’m done with Nissan. Save yourself the frustration and RUN. I will never buy another Nissan again. More
