I took my Dodge Journey in because after being parked since March, when I started the vehicle, the check engine light was on, and upon driving it, it would not shift out of second gear. I informed the since March, when I started the vehicle, the check engine light was on, and upon driving it, it would not shift out of second gear. I informed the service manager that there had never been any issue with the transmission in the past, and that it appeared to me that not being driven for months had something to do with the issue, since the transmission was fine and the check engine light was not on when it was parked in March. They ran diagnostics ($189) which showed a low battery code and low air in the tires but no transmission codes. They then told me I needed a rebuilt or new transmission. ($4,600 - $5,500) After telling them I wanted to take it to a transmission shop for a second opinion, they dropped the rebuild cost to $2800 and the new transmission to $3800. (Because they really wanted “to help me out.”) I denied the offer and took it to a local transmission shop where they test drove it and said the low battery had put it in “limp mode”, so they reset the computer, ran diagnostics (no transmission codes) and handed me my keys. NO CHARGE. I then requested that they service and inspect the transmission. Cost - $189 They reported there were no transmission issues. I paid the bill and tipped the mechanic $50 for being an honest man. He knew the whole story and could have easily sold me a bill of goods. I give this dealership 1 star only because I have no way to give it a lower rating. The 1 star is serious overrating them. More

Good job detailing my Jeep. However, the wait and service time was excessive. It took 4 hours to change the oil and vacuum. There is also oil leaking from my vehicle so I had to tighten a bolt. I also had to make an extra trip back because the dealer forgot to return my personal items to my Jeep. The personnel I dealt with were friendly and helpful. More
