Very disappointed I have a new 2018 Jeep Compass. At one point the motor just shut off on me in the morning. I had to pull over and restart the car. Later that aftern I have a new 2018 Jeep Compass. At one point the motor just shut off on me in the morning. I had to pull over and restart the car. Later that afternoon, the same thing happened. Your service department was called and I was told that they were scheduling 2 weeks out. I wasn’t calling for an oil change, my car was shutting off while driving. After more phone calls, I was able to get an appointment that night an I dropped off my car. I was then told that the issue was because my oil was low. I was told that the engine in my car BURNS about a quart of oil per 1000 miles. I have NEVER heard of a new engine burning oil and the solution to the problem was just to make sure I get an oil change every 3000 miles and I wont have to worry about it. The engine shutting off was a “safety” feature. How can it be safe to be driving 65-70 miles an hour down I-95 and the car just shut off. This is ridiculous. If I wouldn’t lose my butt, I would get rid of the car in a heartbeat. The other issue is there is no spare tire. Just an fix a flat inflation kit.. its a 4wd vehicle. Off road possibly. What good does that do me if I get a hole in the sidewall. Not to mention, I was never told of this by my salesman. He just wanted to sell me a car and move on. Now I find out I have to pay $300 for a spare tire kit to get me a spare tire. Again, ridiculous that you buy a new car and cant even get a spare tire. More
