I was in the market for a second vehicle and had decided on a Hyundai Elantra. I initially wanted the SE trim, but since none were available, I was shown the Sport model. While I did not require the additional features, Axel from the sales team worked with me to negotiate a very competitive price. I asked several times for a breakdown of the number they put on the paper. Why aren’t the taxes listed? They told me. Until I sat with Gerard the finance guy. They know I had to leave at 3 PM - I said if there isn’t enough time, I’ll be happy to come back in the morning. I already left the deposit. There was plenty of time they told me. And of course he doesn’t call me in until 2:45. Conveniently I am in a rush. Suddenly there are many extra fees bringing my total about 4-5 thousand more. I complained, asked if there was a video camera to go back to- and then he took off some of the fees. Then the salesman came in to apologize as if he was completely shocked. Don’t tell me it wasn’t a well played plan. I have shared this sneaky approach with many many co workers in the area- I am sure they will not be visiting this store. I bought the car but have buyers remorse. I should have called off the deal and went to another more honest dealer. More
