Most notably is the double destination charges and the "pre-installed" tracking/vehicle recovery system. Lets start with the tracker. They are charging $899 for something that costs around $50 and has the same capability that is provided by Onstar for FREE for three years. When you tell them that you are not interested in having a 3rd party tracker in your vehicle they will tell you that is pre-installed and the cost will not be removed. If you really don't want the tracker you can pay them to remove it. What a joke. Then there is the other scam charge of an additional inflated destination charge. The vehicle manufacture is required to provide a window sticker outlining the costs of the vehicle, specifically to protect consumers from these scams. The window sticker shows the cost of the vehicle + installed options + the destination charge that they charge the dealer to get the MSRP. This dealer will then take the MSRP (that included the $1450 destination) show a discount ($2200 in my case), then add a $1900 "destination" and $899 for the tracker. Putting the price of the vehicle almost $600 OVER MSRP before taxes/tags/doc fee. When you call them out on the extra destination charge they will quickly point out that their website states that all prices do not include destination. When we went back to grade school math and showed our work, I circled the two destination charges and asked "how is this not a double destination charge?" I was only met with an insistence that is not a double charge because the website said all prices do not include the destination. At that point it was time to find another dealer. I ended up buying the exact same vehicle for almost $4000 less at a GMC dealer in Woodbridge. Do your homework and email all the dealers around that have the vehicle you want and ask them to provide you with the out the door price. Negotiate your deal from there and you will quickly find who wants to earn your business and who is trying to scam you out of every penny they can. More
