Beware – this is how they treated me, and it is how they will treat you. Take your hard-earned money elsewhere. I purchased a used 2010 Porsche Boxster from this dealership while visiting family over the holidays. I live in Western North Carolina and requested that a few items be repaired on the vehicle, so I had to fly back to take delivery with a plan to drive the car back to NC. They knew of my plan to transport the vehicle this way. After taking delivery, I was driving to my parent’s house in Fort Myers to spend the night before the long drive back to NC, and at 30 miles, the car flashed a transmission light and went into "limp" mode, almost causing me to crash as I coasted across 3 lanes of traffic into the shoulder (it was dark out, and traffic was heavy). I was able to "limp" it back to Ft Myers, where I took the car to a Porsche dealership for evaluation, and immediately brought this to the attention of my salesman, who put me in touch with his manager. After explaining the situation, he basically told me that I knew what I was getting into with an "as-is" used car purchase, but that I should call him back after the Porsche dealership finished their evaluation. For $400, The Porsche dealership performed their evaluation, and the fault codes indicated that the car needed a new transmission at a cost of $27,158.02 and also needed an alignment, which I was told was done for me before taking delivery (another $499.99). I left 2 messages for the sales manager with no return call. After almost 2 weeks, another sales manager called and told me that I knew what I was getting into with a 15-year-old car that was sold as-is and that I was offered a service contract. The service contract offered to me was at a cost of $8K for a car that only cost $23K. I thought that with a 100+ point inspection process that they "claimed" was performed and only 53k miles on the car, that I should be safe. I have a hard time believing that it is the dealership's values to stick a customer with a car in this situation. I have requested a discussion with the General Manager, but have not heard from him as of yet. It is difficult to cost-justify legal action with a transaction of this dollar amount, but I am exploring this and plan on filing complaints with the Florida Department of Consumer Services, the Better Business Bureau, writing a Trustpilot and other reviews, and making sure that the Honda Franchise is aware of how they are doing business. This should have been a wholesale car, but they chose to put it on their lot and sell it, giving a false sense of security under the Honda Franchise’s name. Update - I just noticed the recent Google review of "danbo" who also was sold a car with a bad transmission and was told the same as me. Looks like this is becoming a common practice at this dealership and not an isolated incident. Take your money someplace else and protect your family's assets. They could care less about you. More

Started looking to replace my SUV a few months ago. Checked out a few dealerships, both Honda and others, as we searched for the right vehicle at an attractive price. Venice Honda won or business. it wasn't the closest Honda dealership, but I'm glad I made the trip. The local dealer experience was not great so we looked elsewhere. Venice Honda turned out to be a great dealership to purchase from. V made the trip. The local dealer experience was not great so we looked elsewhere. Venice Honda turned out to be a great dealership to purchase from. Very transparent and upfront about every part of the purchasing process. Pricing was fair, communication was excellent and the service was great. I don't often have good things to say about car dealerships, but in this case, I don't have anything bad to say. More

Do not trust this dealership! Do not trust Kara the sales manager! Do not trust Kyle the general manager! They use the bait and switch tactic. I understand why dealerships would Do not trust Kara the sales manager! Do not trust Kyle the general manager! They use the bait and switch tactic. I understand why dealerships would do this but they knew I was driving an hour and a half to the dealership for this trade for this specific vehicle. When I get there it just mysteriously disappeared. I actually inquired about it over a week ago and didn't like the numbers. I passed on it and I wasn't even considering it anymore. Out of the blue, Kara had her assistant Emma call me and gave me all the numbers. I was happy. She told me the car would be waiting for me when I got there. When I get there it's gone. They deliberately got me to drive an hour and a half to their dealership knowing full well that they were gonna pull this on me. After their charade, Kyle has one other option where I can spend $6000 more for a brand new ridgeline (not the color nor model I wanted). Classic bait and switch! I wouldn't be so upset if I lived locally but I drove an hour and a half to them. They knowingly did this. They claim it was a mistake. To get the vehicle ready while I drove there, they had an hour and a half to locate this vehicle. They could have called me and said Hey turn back we don't have it here. Instead they let me drive the entire way. Now because of traffic I have to spend 2 hours to get back home. This wasted my entire afternoon. Do not trust this dealership! Very very shady! More
