Great deal, poor customer service. My first impressions of Anchorage Chrysler Center were friendly, welcoming, and interested in working with their customers. My impressions after worki My first impressions of Anchorage Chrysler Center were friendly, welcoming, and interested in working with their customers. My impressions after working with them for one week, and owning my new Jeep Renegade for three days, is that they are aggressive in pushing in-house financing, they are not concerned with their customers after they make a purchase, and management is condescending in their communication. My sales person, Brandon Lewis, was professional, enjoyable to talked to, and worked hard to ensure my needs were met within his ability. However, my experience with Sales Manager, Gabriel Zorea, has been disappointing and his customer care is below standards compared to any of my experiences with Kendall or Lithia. While trying to finalize my deal, Gabriel pushed for me to finance through their dealership despite me having a pre-approval because he did not want to reduce the price any further to work with my loan or my budget with a newborn on the way. I understand that this is how business goes, but there was room to move still. Fortunately, another manager approved the deal the next day so I could purchase the vehicle. Gabriel’s response to me was, “Your anxiety is the reason you’re about to lose a great deal.” because I wanted to continue handling my loan affairs separately from the dealer to prevent any risk or misunderstandings that could lead to hard inquiries on my credit. Gabriel offered to contact my loan officer directly to “tell them how to do their job” because they could not accept the loan at the price it was. I felt that my loan officer was just doing her job and did everything she could to try making the deal work, including refiguring the retail value of the vehicle on their end to make the loan to value closer to where we needed it to be. I was not comfortable subjecting her to hostile communication because Gabriel did not want to shift numbers slightly more on his end. Once the numbers were shifted and the sale was finalized, Finance Manager, Marcus Reed, was sure to denounce my loan, which I was satisfied with because I was pre-approved at the best rate I have ever had throughout my past 4 car loans. He felt he could have gotten me an even lower rate despite having no information about my credit, but did not offer this information before finalizing my sale, and it came off as condescending to mention it after everything was finalized. After owning my Jeep for two nights, it would not start or charge the battery after about 45 minutes of trying the following morning. I contacted Brandon Lewis, whom went above and beyond to try resolving the issue. He even offered to take an hour out of his day to come down and jump-start my Jeep with his personal vehicle if he could. However, he reported management needed him to stay on the sales floor, so he could not come and assist. The end result was me needing a tow to Anchorage Chrysler Center. When discussing the issue with Gabriel Zorea, he informed me that Anchorage Chrysler Center would not provide me a tow and may not cover the cost of a new battery because I did not purchase the extended warrantee from them. He explained that a tow, rental, and replacement were determined on a “case-by-base basis,” and mine may not qualify despite it being a brand-new vehicle. The extended warrantee was not offered or declined at the time of my sale, but I assume it was not brought up because it would not have worked for the numbers anyway. However, to hold that against me and verbally invalidate the three year bumper-to-bumper warrantee was unprofessional and poor business practice. He was also sure to tell me that I signed the papers, bought the vehicle, and anything that happened to it is my responsibility because it was no longer their vehicle. Legally, I understand, but I have never had a dealer in Anchorage show such little concern towards an issue with a brand-new vehicle only three days off the lot. Gabriel Zorea told me I would need to get a tow and, possibly, a rental vehicle through my insurance company or the Jeep Wave program. He was also unsure if the battery would be covered for replacement. After contacting Jeep Wave, they informed me that my Jeep Renegade Trailhawk paperwork was not submitted from the dealership so my Jeep was not approved under the Jeep Wave program. Jeep Wave could only offer a rental for up to three days, but could not provide any further rental compensation because that paperwork was not submitted and they would need a vehicle diagnostic before providing any further assistance. Once towed at my expense, Anchorage Chrysler Center’s Service Department informed me it would likely be six days before they could diagnose the Jeep and replace the battery because of how busy they were. They also have to check my fluids because my vehicle was sold to me with the coolant below the minimum fill line and my windshield wiper fluid was not topped off. However, I am thankful they were able to provide me with a comparable rental vehicle free of charge despite what Gabriel Zorea informed me. The Service Department was much more courteous and polite than the management in sales, and I have no complaints about the staff I interacted with there. I will not be recommending Anchorage Chrysler Center to friends, family, and the many people I work with. I am beyond disappointed and astonished in the lack of customer care and the condescending attitudes from management after a sale has been completed. I have learned that Anchorage Chrysler Center’s Sales Department conducts themselves in a petty manner if you do not go through their financing or purchase their vehicle warranties. More
