In my opinion, my experience with this salesperson was highly unprofessional and made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. I came to Cable Dahmer Buick GMC of Independence to handle business with the Cable D highly unprofessional and made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. I came to Cable Dahmer Buick GMC of Independence to handle business with the Cable Dahmer company only! After expressing interest in possibly selling my vehicle to the dealership, I met with this salesperson in his office, where we discussed the car in what I believed was a normal dealership transaction. After around a 30-minute wait, he asked me to step outside to talk. Once outside, away from other employees, he covered the dealership logo on his uniform with his hand and said, “this is just me,” then told me the offer would be $250. I understood this at the time as an offer coming from the dealership, with the dealership's money, and the salesperson got them to approve it, despite the team being strongly against it; I thought he was able to convince Cable Dahmer. However, the conversation then shifted in a way that concerned me. I was told that the title could not be signed on dealership property and that we would need to go to a nearby McDonald’s instead. That's when it clicked in my head, that this is not a normal company procedure, and I got uncomfortable. He also asked me to personally drive him to the McDonald's in my other vehicle, which was unrelated to the sale of my Buick and was purchased from a different dealership. This immediately raised red flags for me, as it did not seem like standard or appropriate dealership procedure and appeared to be separate from normal dealership processes. There was no paperwork presented, no clear explanation of how the transaction would be handled through the dealership, and no clarification that this was separate from Cable Dahmer itself. Because of this, I felt uncomfortable proceeding and chose to leave. I later sold the vehicle through a legitimate, documented process elsewhere. In my opinion, customers should never be asked to leave dealership property, participate in unclear off-site transactions, or provide personal transportation to their employees; especially since Cable Dahmer has a shuttle service with their own company vehicles! This experience caused me stress and concern, and I would strongly caution others to insist that all business be handled transparently, on-site (in-office), and through official dealership channels only.
