I spoke to service about this case, and was informed that the quote you were given was for a 'worse-case scenario' if the door panel were to also break during repair, and need replacing, which we thought likely- given the nature of the damage to your door. We certainly apologize if there was any grease left behind, and we'll be happy to clean that up for you. Worst case was never mentioned to me. I was told the door panel would be destroyed during the repair. The absurd cost I was told exceeded the value of the vehicle. I didn’t believe what I was told (a cost of $2,600 to repair a door that wouldn’t open) so called another dealer for 2nd opinion. They said they could get into the door without destroying the panel. They repaired my door yesterday for the $1,400 that they had quoted including a new lock/actuator assembly. Not sure what to say. Maus really let me down.
