I was very excited about purchasing a new Ford Maverick today. Got all the finances lined up, found the right vehicle, and made an appointment two days in advance to look at the vehicle (important fact for today. Got all the finances lined up, found the right vehicle, and made an appointment two days in advance to look at the vehicle (important fact for later). Enroute to the dealer I received a text asking to push back the appointment because of an update that car needed to go through. Explained we were heading there now and recieved confirmation. Once we arrived, we stumbled upon who so just happened to be our salesperson that I was texting with (never recieved a name in the messages prior to the appointment date. Bad on me for not inquiring). Matt (the salesman) then told us that we still had to wait for this update, which honestly still confused about how this updated affected a test drive. We left the dealership, and returned an hour later, at the time he requested. We waited for about 30 mins until someone addressed us, and no Matt to be found. Another salesman Abraham, who is the new car manager, found the keys. To be honest, I didn't care who helped us, I wasn't committed to Matt, so any of them could have assisted and we wouldn't have known the difference. Once Abraham escorted me to the car and gave me the keys, we opened it up and it was filthy. Dirt and dust everywhere on the dash, the handles, all on the floor around the sealed floor mats. It was very unbecoming of a new vehicle. We did the license exchange, he gives me the green light to take her on the road, and once I turn the ignition on, the car only has 4 miles of gas left. How is this happening? To recap up to this point, I made an appointment on Thursday to look at this specific car at 1030 AM on Saturday. Why is the car not ready for sale? Brand new car, 9 miles driven on it, 4 miles of gas in it, needed some sort of update, and it was filthy. This is now 1230pm. Ok, so I walk back up to the office and tell Abrham that the car only has 4 miles of gas left, and there is Matt with other customers. So confused on what is actually happening right now. Abraham stated that he knew about the low gas and oh by the way here is so-n-so (at this point I just wanted to leave, so I didnt even register their name) and he will go with you to get gas. Get out of here man!! How ridiculous does that sound. Then I was told, well we are really busy today. I said I understand, that is why we made an appointment. Its a Saturday, we totally get it. So we gently declined further interaction of the sale, and left. I say all this because I was ready to buy this $35k car. But from the moment of initial engagement, to the departure, I have never in my life been so confused and so underwhelmed with a car buying experience. I send this message not to slam or discourage anyone from buying from here, more so to inform of this experience. I'm still confused and honestly frustrated that I wasted 3 hours ( with travel time) to really be blown off and I can't say treated this way, because we weren't ever treated like anything. It was the most lifeless sales experience I have encountered. More
