I just purchased a brand new 2022 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road from Toyota of Melbourne. I am usually not a fan of the car-buying-experience as I find the upsell tactics and high pressure environment of Off-Road from Toyota of Melbourne. I am usually not a fan of the car-buying-experience as I find the upsell tactics and high pressure environment of many dealers disgusting. My experience at Toyota of Melbourne was the entire opposite though: Due to the market challenges and general vehicle availability issues this year, Toyota of Melbourne was like the 5th or 6th dealer I contacted out of the blue. The other dealers either required me to come into their dealership (despite having no inventory) or flat out didn’t want to deal with someone not living in their town. Not so at Toyota of Melbourne. When I called I got connected with Mick Fields. Mick listened to what I was looking for, understood the challenge of the situation and started to look at incoming inventory. We ended up settling on a fair price for the vehicle. No pressured upsell, no cheap sales pitches. He simply asked questions to allow me to explain what I wanted and what I didn’t. Very professional. The day I picked up the vehicle I was in and out in less than 2 hours. Mick had all the paperwork lined up, the vehicle was ready, he took the time to explain the vehicle features to me, and off I went. Compared to some dealerships where you spend half a day sitting there doing nothing Toyota of Melbourne knocked it right out of the ballpark. A+++. More
