My wife and I recently visited Old Orchard Nissan in Skokie to test drive a vehicle and left with serious concerns about the dealership. The salesman who eventually helped us (Jeremy) seemed confused about why we were there and which vehicle we wanted to see. After waiting about 15 minutes, the car was finally brought around, but was filthy, with the explanation that their car wash was broken. During the test drive, the salesperson wasn’t able to answer even basic questions about the vehicle. We also discovered that one of the rear entertainment screens was actually cracked (despite initially being told it was just a screen protector), and after the drive there was a noticeable burning smell from the engine. At that point there were simply too many red flags. Even though we were willing to discuss the issues and potentially make a deal, the Used Car Manager never came out to speak with us. The overall experience felt disorganized and unprofessional, and unfortunately the follow-up communication afterward wasn’t any better. We came in genuinely interested in buying a vehicle but left feeling like we were dealing with a shady used car operation rather than a professional dealership. Buyers should proceed with caution.
