Turns out that my crankshaft needed to be replaced and i was quoted $595 plus tax and also asked them to add an oil change as well since I needed one. They contacted me on Jan 8th that my car was all set and that the total would be $903 ( $595 plus tax for the crankshaft, $85 for the oil change and $180 for the diagnoses fee plus labor and tax). Over the next few weeks the car was having a lot of issues starting, sometimes it would take 2 or 3 times for the car to even turn on but i thought it was from the cold and from the new parts. Fast forward to Feb 28th, the car then started making a really weird grinding/screeching sound ( as per shown in my video on google maps) , so i had 2 other mechanics look at it just to see what was going on before I called Kia again, since it could be either the starter or the crankshaft and they told me that it sounded like it could be either or, so I called Kia and and explained to them what was going on as I thought it may be the crankshaft ( which should of been under warranty) but the representative Jose was very rude and blaming me and told me that I'd still have to pay for the $180 diagnoses fee and on top of that if it was the starter that they would charge me $964, on top of the $180 diagnoses fee, which I wasn't going to do as i had just spent $903 on the crankshaft a few weeks before that. I also wasn't entirely sure at the time what the issue was so i didn't want to have my car towed there yet again and chance needing to pay the $964. So i booked an appt with one of the other mechanic as they quoted me a much cheaper price. By March 3rd- my car had completely stopped turning on. It wouldn't turn over or anything, so i had to have my car towed yet again to the mechanic. Once the mechanic had looked over the car, they had found out that the starter had broken off into 3 separate pieces and fallen into the transmission/ bell housing causing the grinding sound.( as shown in the picture below) When they told me that, they had also stated that the crankshaft was not put in correctly and was all messed up and caused the starter to break. They stated they would have to take apart my entire transmission just to get the piece out that broke. My car had to sit at the mechanic for over 3 weeks while they took apart the transmission to get this piece out. I just got my car back yesterday 4-2-26 and this is how my starter was found and the piece that had fallen into my transmission due to the negligence of Kia when they replaced my crankshaft. I will never be coming here again. I was lucky that the damage wasn't worse. More

UPDATE: After less than 4 months with my 2018 Sportage purchased from Wagner KIA, EVEN MORE PROBLEMS and SAFETY ISSUES have appeared. The car now won't start (key not recognized), won't respond to the key purchased from Wagner KIA, EVEN MORE PROBLEMS and SAFETY ISSUES have appeared. The car now won't start (key not recognized), won't respond to the key fog command of locking/unlocking, and the remote start button has been uninstalled (installed and manufactured by KIA). I'm driving around with a uncovered vehicle handle (to manually insert the key), never knowing when it'll work again. They sell you a certified pre-owned vehicle with numerous safety issues; they do not provide a loaner vehicle or a rental. I DON'T WANT TO DRIVE A CAR THAT IS BROKEN!! KIA is unconcerned! They don't even apologize for selling you a terrible product; instead, they point the finger upon you. Only buy a KIA if you have no other options. Original post; If I could give negative stars, they would be -5, because they are working very hard on providing the worst costumer service. I brought a Kia Sportage less than 2 months ago, and the car has randomly die while driving TWICE!! I believe this is a serious problem, but they obviously disagree because they aren't in no rush to investigate the problem. Also the only service they provide on Saturdays is Oil Change. That's it. You literally have to use a vacation day to have service on the car. Also they don't provide transportation if you need to leave the car there and go to work and pick it up in the end of the day. Try to schedule to have car problems 1 month in advance, because this is when they will have an appointment available. If you can stay away. Stay FAR AWAY !! More
