I had the car for one day, had a major issue, and Nick stood behind his word. I am completely satisfied with my purchase, and will shop no where else when I buy my next vehicle. I would recommend anyone looking to purchase a vehicle to look Nick Ort jr up at Perrysburg Auto mall. You will not be disappointed. Service department took care of a catastrophic problem, and handled it very professionally. More

I wouldnt trust them with your vehicle I am going to try to keep this as accurate as possible to the timeline of how this all went. May 28, 2018 The dealership informed me that the en I am going to try to keep this as accurate as possible to the timeline of how this all went. May 28, 2018 The dealership informed me that the engine on my car was bad and would cost me $7,500. I told the service person that called me that I was uncertain if I had the money to do that and I asked if there were any other options and was told no. I called a few different repair centers and found an average quote for a new engine with installation $6,000 so I am not sure where the discount was coming from to replace it. May 29, 2018 I emailed the dealership and asked if we could do a used engine and if there were any other options available to me. Later that day I got a reply that explained that Ed Schmit would not install a used engine and an explanation as to why. There were still no options other than a new engine offered. During this time, I started doing research into options. I found places that would recycle my car. I then replied and let them know that I understood why they felt they could not install a used engine. So I asked about recycling my car and if my car was worth the investment. I was kind of wondering at this point why no one was trying to talk me out of fixing the car and buy a different car. Yet again later that day I got a reply “most of the time they were very quick to respond to these emails”. This time I was told that the best thing I could do is look up my vehicles worth on kbb.com and decide if it is worth it. I was finally asked if I would like to talk to a sales person. I responded, “Yes please”. I also called and asked if they would give any type of trade in value for the vehicle. I fully understood that the vehicle in its current state would not garner much value but thought it should hold some value because of the parts. Just to be clear at this point I am sad that one of my favorite cars died on me but I am not mad. May 30, 2018 I did a good bit of research into companies that will recycle vehicles and found a place that would give me about $2,000 dollars for the vehicle which is better than nothing. I also spent a good bit of time researching the value of my car and why it was worth quite a bit less than it did 3 years ago. ** I also learned that the reliability rating for the car had fallen significantly in the past year.** Now at this point I am calling other service center and getting other estimates. Most of the service centers I spoke with had offered me a cheaper rate to install a new engine but all of them told me it wouldn’t be worth it as the vehicle had decreased in value significantly. They also took the opportunity to talk to me about what kind of car I would like to replace this car with and offered to have me talk to a sales person or the would call me if I would like. I emailed Ed Schmidt and asked if they had heard anything from the sales team. After that email I soon get a response. I was told that they would give me between $500 to $1,000 and I was given the contact info for a sales person. At this point I still was not mad at the dealership. I was disappointed that no one was reaching out to me with suggestions and that they wanted me to initiate contact with the sales person. I assumed that it could be chalked up to them not having pushy sales people though. I decided to spend a little time and look at a few options. I ended up recycling the GTI through a company I found online as they were going to give me a bit more for the car than the Ed Schmidt dealership. One of the services the company offered was to pick up the car for me. We agreed for the company to meet me at the dealership to pick up my car. June 1, 2018 Called and left a message to find out what my bill would be for the car. No call back. June 4, 2018 Called and left a message to find out what my bill would be for the car. No call back. June 5, 2018 Called and left a message to find out what my bill would be for the car. No call back. On a second call this day finally answered me. June 6, 2018 This is the day I had scheduled for the recycling company to come pick up my car. I drove to the dealership and met with the driver out back where they seem to put the cars that are to be serviced when they need to get them out of the way. That whole experience went well without any issues. But when leaving the parking lot, a problem occurred to me. No one stopped and questioned the fact that we rolled into their parking lot and removed a vehicle and no one seemed to notice. So here is where I do get mad. Most of this is somewhat innocuous, and could be ignored as a difference of opinion on how these situations should be handled. I felt as though they should have had options on hand before they called me and should have been ready to walk me through this. But like I mentioned before maybe they just like to do things different. After removing a car from the lot without so much as a “hey what are you up to?” I have to say that I am quite disappointed in the overall service. I do find it kind of interesting though that if someone would have just reached out to get me into a different vehicle I may have been fine and ended up not being angry with Ed Schmidt. Therefore, I am giving a one-star review. Not because my engine went bad. I mean don’t get me wrong I am far from pleased about that but I don’t blame Ed Schmidt for that. As an additional note. I filled out a survey for Ed Schmidt that came to my email after all this in which I described all of this. The fact that you replied to my google review only giving you one star without knowing that adds to my frustration and helps prove my point for me. I have emails and screen shots to show the communications with Ed Schmidt. Please feel free to call me if you would like to discuss. The end. More

misrepresented advertising I went to the dealership in response to their advertising cash for used cars at 120% of BlueBook value. After waiting more than an hour, I was given I went to the dealership in response to their advertising cash for used cars at 120% of BlueBook value. After waiting more than an hour, I was given an appraisal that was less than 70% of the NADA stated trade in value.. The purchase voucher claimed a NADA value that was substantially lower than the value would have been for a vehicle in fair condition. I had a previous opinion by a experienced body shop that it was in good condition and could be raised to very good condition for $500 of cosmetic work. All in all, a disappointing experience - I will not patronize this dealership again. More

I test drove three different vehicles I was interested in; Nick was patient with me the whole time. He answered all of my questions knowledgeably. I particularly appreciated that he was kind and not aggressive as some sales folks can be. He let me take the time I needed to make my choice and happily answered my gazillion questions. I got in touch with Nick the morning I was ready to commit and move forward with a Jetta and he responded promptly and had everything prepared and ready for me when I showed up that evening. This was a very smooth process. I am appreciative and will for sure recommend this dealer and Nick specifically— even though it was an hour drive from my home. Well worth it. Thank you! More

He had been looking and looking and we saw a lot of trucks that did not match their descriptions online. The ad for the truck that he saw advertised at Perrysburg Automall sounded great. After talking to Nick at Perrysburg Automall, we decided it might be worth the trip. But it was over a 3 Hour Drive. Well, it was worth the trip. The truck was exactly as described. As a mom helping her son shop for a truck, I greatly appreciate the honesty in advertising we found at Perrysburg Automall. More

After he narrows down the choices I accompany him to see his choices. After test driving and talking with sales personnel we make our choice. We narrowed down our choice to two vehicles at two separate dealerships. There were things we liked about both vehicles but the determaining factor was definitely the sales person.
