Last month, I bought a prevously-owned 2010 Eddie Bauer edition Ford Explorer from Koons Ford Baltimore. I was dealing with the used car department. We negotiated what I felt to be a fair price, and at the edition Ford Explorer from Koons Ford Baltimore. I was dealing with the used car department. We negotiated what I felt to be a fair price, and at their suggestion, I purchased the extended bumper-to-bumper warranty. I am glad I did. Just several weeks later, a horrendous sound emanated from the Explorer when I tried to shift it out of "Park". I was at work and the Explorer was in a downtown parking garage. I called Koons and they called the roadside assistance company. When they were delayed, Koons sent out a driver to pick me up and take me back to the dealership. Then they provided me with a loaner car for the several days it took to fix the Explorer. The problem: the sealed differential came apart inside and most of the parts had to be replaced and the unit rebuilt. Total cost was around $2,500. Cost to me was $100, the cost of the deductible from the bumper-to-bumper insurance policy that I was thankfully encouraged to buy. During all aspects of the sale and later service, I feel I was treated most fairly. Koons Ford Baltimore certainly lived up to the axiom of: "Excellent service after the sale." More
