The work of those like John Lombardi has been great. In Terms of the dealership as a whole….we got better pricing elsewhere and the wait time for inspection is pretty long. In Terms of the dealership as a whole….we got better pricing elsewhere and the wait time for inspection is pretty long. More

Phillip Lombardi in the service department was a sparkling, friendly, helpful presence in what could have been a tiresome process. Phil made us feel as though it was an honor to help us and take care of the recall issue for our 2022 Sienna. There was no push to have other repairs done, just a real pleasure in taking care of us. Cannot say enough good about the way he made us feel about our experience at Lia Toyota. More

There was a rattling noise under the hood that sounded like 2 pieces of loose metal clicking against one another, and it was growing louder. I went to Lia where a service guy quickly signed me in and se like 2 pieces of loose metal clicking against one another, and it was growing louder. I went to Lia where a service guy quickly signed me in and set me up with another man to more fully explain the problem. The man, Phil Lombardi was extremely friendly and professional. We exchanged mutual car problems in the course of him entering my information. He was very sociable and told me what would be done. They would do a diagnostic to determine the cause of the noise, and he would call meet with me when the inspection was complete. He came to me in about an hour stating he had good news. That was indeed "good news" just hearing that!! He said there was a loose piece of metal over the heater that was hitting against it causing the noise. They secured all parts involved and the cost was included with the cost of the diagnostic, so I only had to pay the one fee. That's TWO pieces of good news: it was a fairly simple fix, and it didn't cost a bundle!! More

Not sure if there's a word limit so I'll be brief: My 2011 Prius wouldn't start. I didn't have ability to jump it to test battery, but behavior of car suggested something wrong with the electrical system 2011 Prius wouldn't start. I didn't have ability to jump it to test battery, but behavior of car suggested something wrong with the electrical system, so I had it towed in to Lia for service. They ran a diagnostic, charging me $159 just to hook it up, only to find that it was just the 12V battery that had died. I asked if I could simply replace my own battery in a Prius and was told no, it's integrated into the hybrid system and I would be unable to replace it myself because it needed to be "re-synced with the hybrid system." In the same conversation, Phil, the service advisor with whom I was working, told me that the control arms on the front wheels of my car had "bushings and bearings" that were "coming apart and separating from the body" and that this made it dangerous to drive. I looked up the average price to replace control arms online and found that I should expect to pay between $600 and $750 per arm whereas Toyota was quoting me $2050 total to do so. I pointed out the large discrepancy and was told that the difference is because in a Prius, you "have to take out a lot of components to get to the control arms so it's many hours of labor." Odd, because when I called my mechanic friend in the same zip code he said they could replace both for $900, that it does NOT require a lot of extra work to do, and that most likely I did not need the control arms replaced given that my car had just passed state inspection in October of 2023 (my car was in for service in early January of 2024). He has since inspected it and confirmed that no work is needed and that Toyota was essentially b.s.'ing me to try to hit me p for a $2,000 charge. Given that something like 80% of American families don't have enough savings to handle a $1,000 emergency expenditure, it is APPALLING that Lia would pull this kind of a stunt. So I was already pissed off going into their service center to pickup my car as it was, BUT THEN I looked up online, just out of morbid curiosity, how difficult it is to change a Prius 12V battery and found a step by step YouTube video for 2010-2015 Prius 12V replacement. Imagine how aggravated I was to find out that all you need is a standard socket set and elbow grease, and that it only takes about 5 minutes. It's literally a couple of bolts to hold a tie-down bar plus a clamp on the cathode, that's it. No "re-sync" needed. And I confirmed when I picked it up that the only thing the dealership did was pull out the old battery and put in the new one, for which they charge me 1.5 hours of labor. So I ended up paying $250 for the new battery, $200 and change for the labor, and $159 to be told that I had a dead battery. Had I accepted their nonsense statement that I needed the control arms replaced on my car, I would have paid closer to $2,700 total. I will *NEVER* use this dealership for service again if I can possibly avoid it. And because they have been so sketchy in their handling of my vehicle, I will not buy a car from them either. I will go to the next zip code and buy a Toyota there if I have to get a new car. Screw Lia! They've lost a customer for life. More
