BEWARE, waste of time, rude, and scammy. They tried to charge me $4500 extra on top of the price of the car for mandatory “protection packages” for windshield, interior, and anti-theft. $150 They tried to charge me $4500 extra on top of the price of the car for mandatory “protection packages” for windshield, interior, and anti-theft. $1500 each for “protection packages” that I will probably never use. They won’t sell you the car unless you purchase the extra “protection packages.” No where on their ads do they say you HAVE to purchase extra “protection packages” but you do. Salesman Jose said “that’s how we make money, how do you expect us to eat?” By buying cars at a lower price and selling them at a higher price maybe? Ridiculous, I will never do business with shady and scammy people out of principle. Rather pay more for the car and not have to buy mandatory “protection packages” from scammy dealerships. They also have mold in their coffee machine water container. More
Buyer beware. As you can see from all the one star reviews. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience with West Coast Auto in Mo As you can see from all the one star reviews. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience with West Coast Auto in Montclair, California. I visited the dealership after seeing a vehicle advertised online and arrived with a pre-approval from one of the dealership’s preferred lenders. However, after the finance manager ran my credit, I was quoted an interest rate significantly higher than the rate from my pre-approval. In addition, all three credit bureaus were pulled, which I did not feel was necessary given that I already had financing in place and have excellent credit. When I informed the dealership that I already had a pre-approval through one of their lenders, I was told they could not honor the rate because they “knew” the lender would ultimately return with a higher rate. That explanation did not make sense to me and immediately raised concerns about the transparency of the financing process. After leaving the dealership, I contacted the lender directly and was informed that no application had ever been submitted on my behalf by West Coast Auto. I then emailed the finance manager requesting copies of my credit application, clarification regarding how the quoted interest rate was determined, and confirmation of whether any financing applications had actually been submitted. I received no response. When I later called to follow up regarding the email and documentation request, I was unexpectedly hung up on by Christopher Amato (finance manager), which I found extremely rude and unprofessional. After researching additional customer feedback online, I noticed similar complaints involving pricing discrepancies, unexpected add-on fees, misleading financing practices, and poor customer service. I also noted that the dealership is not BBB-accredited. As a result of my experience, I have retained my emails and screenshots and will be submitting formal complaints to the Business Consumer Alliance (BCA), the California Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Section, the Federal Trade Commission, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau regarding what I believe to be discriminatory and deceptive financing practices and unfair business conduct. I encourage anyone considering doing business with this dealership to carefully review all financing terms, verify lender submissions independently, and monitor their credit reports closely. More

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE! There was also an advertised 'manager's special' price as well. We took the vehicle out for a test drive and we liked it. We wanted to strike a deal. We asked what the Manager's Special price was. We were told the price is what is advertised, no Manager's Special price. Ok, not a deal breaker. Then the salesman tells us the advertised price is not really the price of the car. It's actually $4400 more (!) due to Westcoast Auto Sales installing GPS, Anti-Theft, and Interior-Exterior protection packages. We said we didn't want those items, can you please remove them? They said no, they are part of the car now and must be paid for in addition to the advertised price. This was a classic bait and switch. I don't know if what they did is a legal tactic, but I would tell anyone considering purchasing a car from these scammers to take their business elsewhere. More
the sales guy Mike was very nice. but after a long day and buying a car i went home and checked my paperwork, even tho i paid cash for the car i noticed a 1595.00 "paint protection" a but after a long day and buying a car i went home and checked my paperwork, even tho i paid cash for the car i noticed a 1595.00 "paint protection" add on and a 1675.00 "gps tracker add on" the car was paid in cash. tried o talk to the manager / one of the owners the very next day and got nothing but excuses and the run around. tried to sell back the car i paid 45k for and they offered me 33k the next day, knowing i wasnt going to accept it. this place is a rip off, buyer beware for add ons you dont need . West Coast doesn't sell their cars at the advertised prices. They advertise one price and try to sell it to you at a different price. The car I looked at was advertised online at $23,568.00. I offere prices. They advertise one price and try to sell it to you at a different price. The car I looked at was advertised online at $23,568.00. I offered $23,568.00 plus tax and license. Then they said they have $4,500.00 additional into the car. If you advertise a car at a price. Sell it at that price. False advertising is illegal as far as I know. If you go to buy a house at $500,000 then they tell you you have to pay $200,000 extra because there is an attached garage. That is bad salesmenship. Complete and utter False advertising. More
Bait and switch tactics used as this dealership. Called in to inquire about a used car they had listed at $18,xxx. Was met by a salesperson with a very condescending tone and very dismissive of my questions. I was told immediately that the car has a $4000 markup. Which doesn't show anywhere on their website. Making the total cost $24k+ OTD. Having a hidden dealer package costing $4k on a preowned car is crazy. After I asked a few more questions. They basically told me to get lost and hung up. Classic bait and switch with horrible customer service. I would recommend to avoid this dealer and shop elsewhere. More
They have an excellent selection, and I was able to find the 2023 Tesla Model 3 I was looking for. If you're in the Montclair area and searching for a new car, these folks are fantastic! The staff was amazing—extremely knowledgeable and helped me set everything up. I had a general idea of what I wanted when I arrived, and the sales team was incredibly helpful in refining my options.
